Grunge Experiments

Well, there is only one. I figured since everyone else is using grunge effects, I might as well give it a shot. I don't really like to join popular culture, but these kinds of effects might actually look good and go with the site I am currently working on... Tell me what you think. This took 5 minutes (at most)...

All of those are great Jubba.

I like the second one in Post #2 better. It seems to have a dirtier feel to it.

thanks lost. I took the first one out, cuz it kind of sucked...it was basically the same, but it had a white over lay and it just didn't look right....

yeah, #2 is more 'grunge'. but #1 is sick! i totaly dig that one, more clean cut. i like it.

U might want to do some effect to her face. It is too much of a contrast to have a clean face in the middle of all that grunge. Mabye just even make it darker. The second one looks great.:)

Just as a note: Jubba originally had 2 images in his second post, and he asked which one was better, which is why I said the second one in post 2 :)

Here is one I made up based on a tutorial by void x or something and the brushes No-tec posted from nocturn or something like that. If you have a dark monitor it won't look as good.

You mean PS right. It is a check box up in the property bar. I think it shows up when u have the text tool selected

Sintax: I've seen that tutorial. It does look good, but for the overlay, try using difference clouds instead of that rock pattern It makes it look much better.

mdipi GTA:VC is the best game ever. Oh and jubba I found the sea plane. Buy the massion and the movie studio. Then the palne shows up behind the massion.

Its a good game but it is short I think I can pass it in like 5 hours now. The sequl is coming out for PS2 soon. I hope you get to be sanke more this time and not stupid rydan. That guy licked it.

I am definately into this whole grunge look. I like the way it feels. And it also takes no time to make. That one i just posted took me about 8 minutes to make. Including the time it took to upload the image to my server, and open photoshop... and on my crappy comp thats forever... lol

Post your new image when you get done with it I would like to see how it comes out.

Thats where i got mine. No-tec posted the link about 2 weeks ago. I spent an hour downloading ever brush. I think it was 128 brush packs. Some have up to 10 brushes in them. I got a lot to work with.

i went to the Adobe Studio Exchange and dl'd some brushes and now made a very contraverial grunge experiment!

Looks great Sintax. I'm wondering though what does that look like if you leave the eyes? Instead of that white, its too much contrast for the overall feel...

I don't know? it's just a mask so it wouldn't be hard to put the eys back in. I might change the color to that red. I'll tinker around with it when I get off work.

Wow all you guys, you have some pretty sick stuff going on there. When I finish my client site, I think I will try to do some grunge stuff. I've never experienced brushes not in PS, so I'm looking forward to it. When I've done a couple, I'd love to battle someone!

OK, silly question: what the hell is a brush? in PS, of course. :beam:

If u are using your Brush or Air Brush tool u can select your brush size and type. U can also make or download custom beushes. They are usally scans of pictures or ransom items that make a cool effet when used. If u go ro Adobe Exchange of to doe a search for PS brushes u should be able to find some. Then juts put the new set of brushes in your Adobe>PS>Presets>Brushes folder. Then when u have your brush tool selected go to the brush selection menu above. Click the flyout arrow and go to load brushes. Find yuor new brushes select it then click "append in the warning box that comes up. Then u can use the brushes to make all sorts of cool PS effects.

PS: If u acedently don't click append you will lose your origonal brushes. To get these back just click the flyout arrow and select "reset brushes":)

Hey ppl!...long time no see...

You're saying that it is so easy to create those images, and i would like to know how, if u have a tutorial or something, cuz i can make that kind of stuff but it will take me forever to make them...:-/

Here's the very first I made about 6 months ago...pretty archaic though....it was a kind of essay, i actually won a prize for a series of images that included those...

if u explain me a bit i'm up for a challenge but i dare u to use self images.... u will all have to go and take pictures to ur girlfriends and make them look sexy-grungy!

There really is nothing to it. Get your picture/s they way u want them then start throwing brushes onto the canvas. use lots of layers. Thats I'll i can tel u.
