Well this is my second building...the design of the buildings was pretty simple but I think the dish is pretty cool. I highly doubt this will be the final version but let me know what you think.

The building looks really cool and futuristic. The satellite, though, doesn't seem to have a pixelish look to it. Did you use some sort of a gradient fill or brush for the dish? :beam:
You may want to work a little bit more on the satellite dish. Besides that, great piece!

Nice start LifeEnder....
I have to agree with k-man.... the satellite looks too smooth... one of the biggest things about pixel art is that you only really allow 4 shades of a color... so there are 4 greys, 4 blues... 4 greens. black white and transparent... so your plot should be like 20 colors or less....
u can use more colors... but if you plot is like 256 colors..and alot of them are the same color... then it probably means it not gonna look really pixelly...

yeah I have to clean up the building and the satelite a lot still. the satelite was actually done in a 3d program so im going back over it and touching it up. I also need to work on the buildings a bit, something about them seems off to me.

Very unique. I like the idea.
That dish does need some work. I think maybe if you just made it smaller, that would help it a bit.

here it is with a smaller dish and without the gradient, im still working on the building but let me know how the satellite looks now.

Ya, I think that looks much beter. I think the rod in the middle of it might need some work. Maybe put a red light on the end of it? Shorten it up a bit? I don't know.
It's coming along though, nice work.

ok I cleaned up all of the edges to make it look more pixely, shortened the antena thing and added a red light on the end and added some shadows. Let me know what you think.

pretty cool. :thumb:
How about centering it on the plot, or is it to tall for the template if it's centered?

Sorry about that, I hadnt realized it had gotten raised off the plot after I pasted it. Let me know if this is ok.

I know I'm being really really picky, so feel free to hurl a blunt object towards me if I'm being out of line here :)
The circular base for the pole inside the dish doesn't seems to be rotated properly. It looks like it is skewed too far horizontally. Try to see if you can recreate the similar shape as that of your original 3d-based picture of the inside of the dish :gm:

D'oh your completely right it does need to be fixed. I'll definately work on it. It was hard to get the general shape of the satellite back once I removed the gradient and created the outline. Thanks for your eye.

ok I fixed the base for the pole a little bit. It might still be off but im having a hard time trying to get the perspective right tonight. I also added some flowers to the grass to give it color.

excellent.
You have "tech building" skills. That's good, I think kirupaville needs more tech buildings.

I just wanna say thanks to everyone for your continued support and constructive criticism. Its really been a factor in keeping me motivated. There’s some stuff I'm still tweaking on this building but my next update will probably be the finished version. If there’s anything you can think to add I’m highly open to suggestion =)
