Might be my last as well heh. I gotta say, this was greater a task than I had anticipated.

edit: didnt need to link pic

Theres a lot of things I dont like about it like the shrubs and I would have liked to add some water detail, but in the end it was just gonna take me too long to do all the things I wanted. I guess for a first attempt at pixel art im kind of proud of it but should I decide to make another building im sure I could improve. The banner on the front of the buildings is a logo a made for a company I hope to start one day. Anyways let me know what you think. PIXEL ART IS HARD ><

Thanks a lot guys. I'll probably get around to working on another today. I have a few ideas but im terrible at implementing them when it comes to pixel art.

My only comment is to make the outlines for the bushes a dark green instead of black, it will make them look more like bushes and less like one big block. :)

Other than that, looks great.

ok I fixed the bushes. Thanks for the suggestion =) its hard to tell because of the way I shaded them but it still looks better.

That's pretty sweet. It almost looks like a circuit board. I like it. :thumb:

I think there should be something in that square grass area in the back. A fountain? Statue? Garden? Strip joint? ;)

lol im working on putting a fountain back there but making water with pixels is wicked hard.

Here it is with a little monument in the back. I re-added the flowers and put some water around the base.

I really like it, you should double check the R though, hmm it seems a bit small and square.

Nice job on the fountain and the rest of the garden.
It's really cool to watch your things improve, cuz they really do.

Very nice. :thumb:

I'll put it on the list of buildings to be "constructed"

ok I think this is my last update for this building. I fixed the letters to look more like what they're supposed to (lol), changed the dark monument to a golden one, lightened the borders for the grass as suggested ;) got rid of the goofy grass texture and added a more pixelly one, added a blue border around the chronicle letters to help guide your eyes, made the garden a pixel wider, added transparency to the water (even though its hard to tell), and fixed the flowers so they are just around the base of the monument. Let me know how it turned out.

I think I liked the old monument better. It matched thie building. This one kind of detracts from the building.

yeah definitely the old one better

*sigh* there goes by bling...well if anyone asks thats a solid gold monument painted black =P I decided to just go ahead and make it all black because the blue top didnt really make sense to me. Did you think the other changes were ok?

jokun
January 31st, 2005, 04:28 PM
yeah, black definitely looks better, but maybe some lighter gray on the side for some highlights?

LifeEnder
January 31st, 2005, 04:39 PM
ok I made it darker but also seperated the greys so the shading stands out more. let me know if its ok.
