How can I tell whether my RAM is PC133 or Pc100 or PCFLUX CAPACITOR? I dont have the book on the motherboard anymore because it is a pretty old computer. But I want to buy more RAM for it. Please help. Going to order from Tiger Direct yet dont know what to buy.

Just buy the PC133, it'll be compatible with the board whether or not it needs PC100 or PC133.

However, if it requires PCFLUX CAPACITOR, you may need to buy some plutonium. I know some people who might be able to help you out, but it doesn't come cheap :shifty:

Try out the program Sandra, it'll give you lots of information about your hardware, including your memory.

or you can use cpu-z to find out about which your motherboard is, then search the web for stats on your motherboard.

After re-reading the title of this thread I can now see the that the answer I had formulated prior to coming in here in no way whatsoever fits the category of discussion. I will refrain from posting it.

Its just as well since its computer and gaming relevancy was iffy at best.

So couldn't you just open up the case and look?

you would think so, but not all ram comes with the bus speed printed on it. Most ram comes with a little white sticker on it saying what type, speed, pins, etc. If not, your best bet is to simply go with the faster ram at pc133, because if your other ram is only pc100, it will operate at the slower speed. But not the other way around. ;)
