Calling all gaming experts! :beam:
I just received my Nintendo DS from the radio station I won it from over the holidays. I already have a Gameboy Advance SP and I love it, so tell me why I need this! It's still sealed and I'm debating selling it on ebay since there really aren't that many games yet for it anyway.
To sell or not to sell...that is the question.
your thoughts? :inc:

It would make a great donation to an orphanage, a home for troubled kids, or the terminal wing at a children's hospital.
Those are my thoughts.

it's not a bad idea lunatic and don't think i haven't thought of that myself. I give away so much throughout the year in terms of clothes and food, but I don't feel comfortable with this a charity item.

give the SP to needy kids ;)
the DS will play GBA games but the DS also has this fun little touch screen thing which is just fun. More games will come out later and I hear Warioware inc is like crack. If you dont like it still you can go back to the SP

Donate it to something - Sell it on ebay - or keep it and donate your old SP...

*lol - me too, i just think it's funny how many people are sad that it's gone and yet they were the ones who wouldn't listen to them as much as other stations and always complained about the DJ's. I never really bothered...it's just funny.
as for the DS, I decided to keep it based on the fact that I can play the GBA SP and the new DS games. I'd be silly to cut that out of my possibilities when I know I'd regret it when something cool finally does come out. Thanks for the help everyone.
P.S. I just ordered Super Mario DS. :mario:
P.P.S. I really can't wait to get a PSP :P

Have you heard about the Shooting Disc defect in the Japanese PSPs? Apparently if you twist the PSP a certain way the drive pops open and the disc comes launching out... haha.

some of the buttons on the PSP are supposed to be iffy too I heard where you have to press them hard or sometimes when you do press them they dont work. Then you got some screen issues. ... nevertheless, the graphics do put the DS to shame.

the disc shooter thing is funny :beam:
I will have to admit I hate hearing stories about quality of new products and how iffy they can be. Always humbles my desire to get it...for a little while anyway. :P
I can't believe how much better the graphics are on the DS than the GBA SP for the same game! It's not even close, the DS is way better.

PSP looks nice, I don't like how they're marketing the UMDs to go along with it. Sony should concentrate on a core gaming product without having it's hand down every demographic's pants.
While the graphics do excel the DS, I'm still interested in the battery life. (movable internal parts, large display, graphic processing).
The wireless connectivity of the DS is pretty rad - not needing a copy of your friend's game to multi-play and having 8 players in a game of mario kart? SOLD.
... I'll probably still buy both anyways.

I think the backlit screen helps with that :)
The DS is a nice little machine. I think, though, that a little more effort in graphics would have payed off. You can keep saying how they don't matter, but they do, to an extent at least.
One thing to be careful of, UNFLUX, is that I dont think the DS supports multiplayer w/ GBA games.

I'm not overly concerned with the multiplayer function honestly, I don't have anyone that would A) buy a DS or B) want to play with me anyway. :D
the GBA SP is backlit as well, so that's not it. I was looking at both of them one after the other loading a game and the DS's screen is much "tighter" in terms of pixels. The coloring and lines are a lot smoother. At least to my eye anyway, but I don't think I'm imagining things.

Why does everyone say that the DS's graphics are bad? They're almost amazing. Play Metroid Prime Hunters, and watch the opening scene. Then, watch the unlockable video. Tell me that doesn't warm your heart, watching amazing 3D Metriod on a hand-held Nintendo device.

They aren't "bad" per se. But when you compare them to that of the PSP, people have a tendancy to say it. Have you seen the difference?
