File Recovery

Hey.... I'm running an XP Home machine.... there were some image files saved on the desktop in a folder. I deleated them, and emptied the recycle bin, only later to find that I still need them. I know there is way to recover 'deleated' files, but dont know how.

Could any of you help me out??

man... there is software i know...
i had my whole portfolio i was gonna send to a college on the pc... well i moved out my mom's house... and took revenge by reformating my harddrives... i took it to a guy who placed a dos proggy on it and he recovered em.. but they were so corrupted they wouldn't work.... i was depressed.. cause i had jobs i was doing for clients.. i was 17 at the time... i was so mad... my pc didn't have a good cd burner... i do now...

Yeah... I did a search... I was hoping I would be able to get around using software since there was no reformat or disk damage - thought maybe someone here had a trick or two up their sleave :P :thumb:

If not, does anyone recommend a specific proggie they might have used in the past?
