I'm pretty sure this lists already exists somewhere, probably under Best of Kirupa in the tutorials and resources section but anyway, a great free font site is

It has basically every font I needed when I was desperate and I couldn't find them, I wish I knew this site a month ago.

Everyone probably already knows this one, but fontsforflash.com (http://fontsforflash.com) is great.

If you take a pixel font and make it huge, it looks kinda cool for techy layouts...
