This started out as an experiment in steering controls, then seemed to have adapted a particle system for exhaust and somehow became a pill with wings or whatever.
Yeah, I got asked if I was on drugs a lot after I released this a while back. The answer is no... no I am not. I am just weird.

That's awesome. One thing that I noticed though is that while the pill car travels to the other side of the screen when it passes through the wall, the exhaust doesnt. Maybe something to implement in the next version (if there is one).

I dig it, the exhuast is sweet and the flow is nice. It slows down well too.
Some stuff to crash into please? :D

@Yeldarb: Imagine running an if statment on every one of those particles to check the position and see if it should go to the other side of the screen. It would be quite processor intensive for such a nominal effect IMO. Though I won't like, I didn't think about doing that while creating this.
@dreeft: Stuff to crash into? Hmm... well I never was much of a game programmer, but it would be a fun thing to tackle I guess...lol.

you tried holding the forward and the reverse keys at the same time (i know, why would you but hey, that's always the first thing i try, theres usually a glitch) anywayz, when their both held down (for me anyway) you can only turn in one direction and the bubble stream is a bit weird.
anywayz, i'm just nit-picking here, AWESOME effect...

Yeah, I know about the glitch, but like you said, what on earth would you need to hold the forward and reverse keys down at the same time for? The bubble stream turns lighter because I have the colour of it change when the reverse key is hit, as for why you can't turn, not too sure, but I'm sure if I really wanted to I could fix it, but 'meh'...lol.

Nah, I'm content with how it is right now. I left this experiment back in the dust like a year ago...haha. Feel free to download the file and continue where I left off though ;) ;)

um... nice work man... um one thing though.. it seems as if teh particles collide with the edge of the screen when the pill rocket goes off screen... did you put constrants on the particles?

Nope, no constraints on the particles. They just freeflow away and have an alpha fade which when reaches 0 removes the clip from the stage.

Nice
If you hold down DOWN and UP at the same time, you get a stream of light grey exhaust particles whilst moving forward.
