View Full Version : Problems with IE 6

On the page that I do, I added a flash movie to it. In IE it doesn't appear at all, instead it still has the old image that used to be there. In FireFox it displays no problem. Also if I explicitly type in the file in the address (www.zzz.com/index.htm instead of just www.zzz.com) the movie appears.

I am thinking this has something to do with image caching that IE is not handling properly. But don't know how to force an update.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there any way to make it so that my users don't have to use F5? How am I going to post that if my users want an update hit f5? seems it should happen automatically?

Thanks again.

Not that I'm aware of unless the user has their settings in IE set to check for new versions of the page every time it's visited. To do this, follow these steps from within IE:

1. Tools -> Internet Options
2. Click on the button marked "Settings" under the "Temporary Internet Files" heading.
3. Click the radio button marked "Every visit to the page" and click OK, then click OK again to exit the Internet Options dialog.

Now every time you visit a site you should see the updated version...that's of course IF IE is working correctly.
