Interestingly, Plan B, listed in the credits, is Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt's production company. This appears to be their first movie. Depending on how this movie turns out, it might also be their last.

it should turn out ok...
Willy Wonka + Tim Burton sure is better than extraterrestrial life form + Emmerich (if you get my drift...)

oompa oompa doopey de do, I've got another riddle for you,
oompa oompa doopey de do, how can Johnny Depp top Gene Wilders performance in the first movie?
Doesn't fit in the song but hey, if you can get it in there I will personally applaud :)

I never saw the original as a kid. Rere420 made me watch it a couple of years ago. I thought it was cracked.
Certainly not watching this.

They'd better still have the oompa-loompa song. If they do, then the movie should be good!

i just can't see it it being as good as the original, tim is famous for is dark and twisted productions (nightmare before chrismass, beetle juice etc) but this is gonna be a dark and alternative spin on a classic, don't expect the same expect something different.
kind regards

I remember watching it as a kid and thinking to myself...
"Do people actually realized that the kids in the movie slowly died off one by one?"

Hahaha.... i never really thought about that, thats funny. I'm really excited abut this movie though, the original was definitely one of the coolest movies ever (although i say that about every movie i really like). Who wants to go see it with me, i need some friends.

the orignal film WAS twisted too. I'm interested more in seeing Tim Burton's take on the themes though.
I am predicting it will be a good film. Though I am a fan of Buton's work (Big Fish, Nightmare Before Christmas). He doesn't make "popular" films.
don't compare it to the original.
