Hi,
I have used Kirupa mainly as a flash forum. This time I have question about a good, handy and free/not so expensive e-mail program. Something different from outlook/outlook express.
I'm using windows XP.
Thanks :)

Thanks,
Can I use this for hotmail accounts too? I mean receiving and sending e-mails from hotmail/Yahoo?

Outlook is the only email program I know of that works with Hotmail.
I don't think any mail program works with Yahoo! unless you have some sort of premium account.

mx-guest2004I thought you were anti-Microsoft! Isn't using Hotmail a contradiction? How about accessing GMAIL through FIREFOX on a MAC? Isn't that the ultimate, non-Microsoft solution?

This gmail thing ...
Is that for ordinary people like me as well? I don't think so :-/
I don't have gmail :(
The problem is that I have already have hotmail account which I want to keep.
I have used outlook express, but many times it just cuts my e-mails !!
I mean an e-mail with 8 lines, just being sendt 5 lines and the last 3 lines disappear both from the e-mail in sendt message folder and the for the receiver of the e-mail.
That was the main reason to look for other solutions.

Does Hotmail have auto-responder, if not you can probably just set one up in Outlook and tell people that you've got their mail but from now on, can they send their mail to your new address. Gmail is well fast since it runs through Java (I think).
It may seem a bother to do this (and it is) but it worked for me and no-one seemed to mind.

As I wrote, if you mean by Gmail, the mail service from google.com, I have not been lucky to have it yet.

Incredimail. I think a download for that is on http://www.majorgeeks.com as well as the links to many other popular email clients

Actually, it would be better to use a Mac with an @mac.com email address and use Safari.

Or even better, use a @mac.com address with Mail (Apple's e-mail program, thats bundled with OSX).
I don't think you can get any anti-M$ than that :P
