Oki I've completely forgotten...

How many people on this forum have I made footers for now? :)



And while I'm at it, does anyone want any?


Just started school today (again).. and it is a draaaaaag....

I spent the entire day fizzlin' over a new design for their web site...

It's a production school thingy, I make about 600$ a month just showing up :P

I haven't made people footers, but I have given people the source code to my flash work and they impliment it into their footers!

I think we should stick with the 80's tv shoiw theme. Its looking very old school in here. I think I might make 3 or 4 more than put the random background on. Any ideas. :)

I think my goal is to reach 1200 before you eilsoe, I have been posting like 3 posts a day lately, I was doing about 20, but then some annoying people made me stop posting on the boards because of the same stupid and repetative questions. Some people just don't know how to use the search button! I will have to start posting in the Flash sections to catch up, I'm looking forward to that...not! :P

That footer competition will be weird guess... I don't know the first thing about design, so I'll do a Flash footer. Other people feel more comfortable with PS, so they'll do a PS footer. How are we supposed to compare a PS footer and a Flash footer?? :-\

Actually mdipi, it's only a radial gradient, then added some weird foreign font as text, toned that down and added a cut'out of homers face and toned that down too...

no big fancy shiz, just plain layer editing :)

Hey, on a different subject:

Eilsoe, could you perhaps one day teach me how to draw pixel drawings like the worm you did. It looks really good and I would love to know how to do it. Maybe we could go on mIRC sometime for an hour and you could teach me through that? Or, better still, make one of those movies that Edwin made and then add your comments to the sound part. (I don't know how much work that'd be though.)

There's not really that much to teach.. :)

This is how i did it (photoshop):


Top layer: ONLY black lines... drawn with a size 2 brush, using the mouse.

Color layer: Used a size 3-4 brush, paint the colors you want within the lines (magic here is, that the lines are up one layer, so you can paint a little in under the lines, gives perfect results).
The use the burn/dodge tools to make shadows/highlights on the color layer.

Background layer: Just a fill color here...



Note: Maybe add a shadow on a layer between the BG and the color layer... that's what I did :)

Hey eilsoe (hey I spelled it right) could tou tell me what font you use in POM's footers. The text that says "just try me". I love that font and I must have it. "I will gladly pay you next tuesday for that font today."( a little quote from that guy on the popeye cartoons)

I like the idea for a footer contest. Also mdipi is right there should be a PS and FLash catagory. But then mabye a combined overall catagory.:goatee:

Oh come on pom :) I wouldn't be so mean to tell each of you to create NEW footers. If you already have a great footer, you can submit that in as well. No need in stressing yourself over creating another whole new footer just for a competition. I have not yet decided on when to start the competition though....so relax and enjoy the fresh air.....around our comps with Flash displayed :)

Quick question. How do have the fish resume the random motion after the mouse click. I asume you have the fish on a random motion and when you click they go to the mouse's x y location. But how do you make the fish resume there random motion?

Syntax,
Well i couldnt quite figure that part out at first, i mean inside the MC i tryed to select a new location once the value of _x matched the endx. Well i couldnt do it, i'd go and stop =) so i decided to make a blank mc, and about 60 frames in it sets the random value for the endx for the fish(endx is my var for the destination) So when it hits frame 60 it automatically resumes and goes there, regardless of if you clicked or not =)

I'll clean up my code and Fla and lighten it, and show you guys, or better yet, i'll make a tutorial =)

I can see how that works now. If you click one end of the footer and the fish are at the other end the y turn around before they get there. I gues the 60 fames where up if I understand u correctly.
