Plan to make it a bit funkier in time, but she just wanted something clean and simple for the time being ... and quickly. Looks best in IE due to scrollbar colours ... ;)

i'm a big fan of websites that don't go over the top. Your site works well, looks good and is easy to navigate. Well put together, maybe change the background colour to some thing other than white or scale it to fit the browser, i dunno, either way, good site.

simple, easy to read and use however I'd lose the white background

maybe something similar to the blues you use...don't do textured, everyones using it

The only comment I have is, is it important to have the scrolling box? couldn't you just extend the whole layout down to fit more content?

thanks for the comments folks ... will change the white background.

as for the scrolling text ... just something that I fancied experimenting with as I quite like the consistency you get browsing across a site with fixed height/width pages, rather than extensible ones. Given that Netscape/Mozilla don't render the scroll bar colours though maybe i'll do an extensible version too and see how that looks :)
