MY XBOX IS DYING!

My old Xbox is dying! It can’t read most disks, never reads OXM disks, and can play Halo only on multiplayer. It also has troubles with loading (on halo the preloader starts to go backwards on campaign?!). The worst of it all is that it leaves grooves and circular scratches all over my disks! I just got Halo 2 and in one day it already is just totally covered with scratches. Luckily my other newer Xbox has no problem with the scratched disk.

My current theory is that the lense is rubbing on the disk which would explain the scratches and the troubles with reading the disks.

Has this happened to any of you guys? How can I fix it? Do I just get rid of my old beloved Xbox??!!

That happened to my freinds ps2 except the cd openers stopped working so they had t osend it to the shop but my ps2 has been fine but httas probably because we only use ti on weekends

nirvana, I have the same thing, I got my xbox before xbox was realesed, but it still can read good discs. Uh, the problem is that your harddrive is out of date (thomson drive) which is pure crap. Get a new box

Yup get a new xbox or better yet just go to EB take your Xbox and some games and trade it for a new xbox, over here they dot even check them or ask questions they jsut grab it and give you a new one ofcourse after paying the diffrence

Yea, I had mine repaired once because the DVD drive wouldn't read discs anymore. Thank god for Microsoft's warranty! :D

ok i traded it in and got a new one for $50 yay! game crazy gves u $10 more dolars for the xbox btw.
