I figure I'll start this thread since jubba and I touched on it in another thread (kinda hi-jacked it)...
The dual wielding is really sweet once you get the hang of it. Being able to keep firing while reloading another weapon has many advantages. Also the recoil on the guns adds a new level of skill required to get thru the game and the shotgun being less accurate at distances is very welcome as well.
Now what do ya'll dig about H2

The obvious graphic enhancements.
The new story-line (once i get into it) That was my favorite part about HALO because the story line was incredible, hopefully the next one will be just as good (or better).
I really liked the fact that they toned down the pistol and the shotgun (at long range) because it doesn't seem right that a pistol should be the most powerful weapon in the game....
The new weapons are pretty sweet too...

my favorite part was laughing at my friend for waiting in line for 2 hours at the GameStop in milwaukee at midnight last night.

lol...kris...Honestly I felt kinda like a b00b doing it as well. I felt like I was inline with Star trek fans. Some of the people were nerdy beyond compare. Like 400 people burst into a thunderous applaus when the first dude came out of gamestop with his.
I to like the story line so far. How the alien dude and the master chiefs lives seem to parallel in an opposite manner. Good stuff. Jubba you got me excited. I did not know you can get the plasma sword. Now I want to go home.

Why the hell would you wait in line at midnight to get a game?
Just order it online, geez.

i waited in line to see matrix 2, though, so i shouldnt be talking, DDD ;).
Now sorry to tray from the topic: I haven't played it yet so I can't tell what my favorite part of it was so far.
(P.S. in reference to Max: that same guy who was in the line... skipped all 3 of his classes today. He beat the game just an hour ago. played it from 1am to 3pm CST)

Iv posted this same text in another thread about Halo 2, but theres just 2 many threads about it so im not writing different subjects for each thread!:
How Many Different HALO 2 Threads Are There Now In Kirupa Forums!!! There EveryWhere!!
Anyway....My comments about Halo 2...So far where im upto just passed the city level, id have to say that im pretty impressed with it, its a much more smoother game when playing: example: straifing left or right. Also the dual weapons is pretty sweet nothing beats 2 dual SMG's all though the firepower of them makes it hard to control but im pretty used to it. One of my faviorite new features in the game is hijacking a Ghost, theres nothing more fun then running out behind a corner and surprising the elite driving the Ghost and then bam, jump on kick him out and then you take control of the Ghost, thats my most enjoyable part so far,
Some downfall parts though, I miss having health packs to collect, but im sure ill get over it, and so far im not enjoying the levels, although the city level is pretty sweeet, im hoping theres some level similar to "Assualt on Control Room" - that level rocked!!
Im still yet to play multiplayer, as im going to play that once the game has been finished. Im doing the game on normal at the moment, but like I did on Halo, ill complete it on Heroic and then Legendary, but im sure that will take many many hours of gameplay time!
Theres my thoughts so far....

Yeah I miss health packs too..... too run and gun now...
Thing I like the best is your fellow marines.... I like there wise cracks and that they seem pretty inteligent now. It's nice when you are fighting with half a dozen of them around you, and also if you keep them alive they just keep following you.

I feel like I failed my duty... then I get over it and continue on.

I finally played it and I have to say that I was pretty turned off by the first level of the game. I was just about to quit it because it was so boring when I accidentally stole a vehicle and then I thought 'whoa this is actually kinda cool!' Overall I'd say it's a cool game but it certainly doesn't live up to the hype (as most things don't lol).
I guess my favourite thing is driving the tanks and blowing the crap out of everything.

My favourite thing part of Halo 2 is that it's only available on Xbox and I don't have one.
OK... Not really :*(

Multiplayer, with 4 buddys you know, all at their houses, all "blazin" ;) , on Zanzibar, One Flag CTF. Oh yes, on my big screen with the lights out, and 311 playing in the background.
Also, finding the secret skulls that have the strange effects in singleplayer on legendary.
God I wish I wasn't working right now.

I have to agree with stu, the multiplayer aspect of it is the shiznito-bam. Being able to play with people you know across state lines and such is just awesome.

The best part for me was when you are in the city stage trying to destroy the giant walking thing. You basically have to jump inside it while it is moving. The graphics in that level were really good - not to mention the actual objective of destroying the giant walker :)

mine is how its compared to Goldeneye all the time...oh wait
I'm so tired of "Like Halo 2, Goldeneye allows you to dual wield..."
in reality, Goldeneye predates Halo 2 by many years, and dual wielded first (I'm not sure if they invented it, but they were definitely one of the originators of the idea)
Also, how Goldeneye is compared to Halo in multiplayer aspects. When people say that also like Halo 2, Goldeneye's multiplayer was the best part...Goldeneye might as well be Halo's uncle. I'd almost rather play Goldeneye to Halo 2, cause everyone with Halo 2 walksa round saying "Im better than you" only to get a response of: "No, im better than you"
typical conversation:
"I'll pwn you"
"No way"
"gimme your xbox live tag"
"fine its ----"
"mine is ****"
"good ill pwn you now"
"no you wont"
"yes i will"
seriously, I go to high school; I know these things first hand :(
also, I hate how Microsoft has screwed all dial-up'ers...if you don't have DSL, no Halo 2 fun for you...and Halo 3 will probably be all online :'(
(wrong place for a rant, but no one else will listen anywhere else...thats how sad this is: they'll only see anti-Halo things on a pro-Halo thread)
Time to go play some Halo 2

Those are two completely different games... I don't see how anyone could compare them other than both of them being FPS. Goldeneye is one of my all-time favorites games, but in no way is it like Halo. ;)

Agreed completely. And even with the high speed connections you still get lag some times. And my favorite part of Halo 2 was the ending:P

Actually, that's bull - the speed of the other players has no effect on your game whatsoever in a client-server architecture - anyone who says it does is either lying, or has no experience with playing online with players who are on 56k.

I'm so tired of playing online games like COunter-Strike only to get booted from a server because the idiot admins think that my 56k is slowing everyone down. Its not like I'm the one hosting the server.
Idiots
BTW, for that comparison read OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) in their Goldeneye review.
