Any good reference books for signs, symbols, and icons?

hi, i'm looking for some ideas for creating icons and symbols something like that, my friend got this book called "Lingua Grafica", very excellent one, but since it's out of stock now, i could hardly get a copy for my own. Could anyone suggest another good reference books too? :)
