Does anyone play this game? I bought it a few days ago, and I have been hopelessly addicted to it. It picks right up where Deadly Alliance left off, and in many many many ways it is much better.
There are more characters, many of them have to be unlocked. There are many different modes of play including a type of mortal kombat chess, a game similar to super puzzle fighter, and konquest.
I have to take a minute to talk about the konquest mode. At first I thought it was dumb, but the more I got into the story, and stomped around the Mortal Kombat universe the better the game got. It also teaches you how to play the game. This is also where most of the games characters and secrets are unlocked.
If you haven't played this game, you should be.

I'm totally addicted to that game right now, I've been doing Konquest for about 6 days now, and I've unlocked 5 of the 12 hidden charaters. (Noob-Smoke, Tanya, Kenshi, Jade & Li Mei.)
I got that Brady Games guide.. It really sucks.. don't buy it save your money. instead visit these message boards. http://www.trmk.org/forums/index.php & http://mortalkombatonline.com/content/forum/
If you haven't played it on LIVE, try it. It's really cool! (my xbox gamer tag is "alphamale05" ;) )

Man, I havent played MK since it was on snes! Is it still just a fighting game or has it evolved into more of an action game? I remember some Sub-Zero side scroller type game several years back. It isnt like that is it?
Is Scorpion still around? Please tell me Scorpion is still around!

I love MK: Deception!!! I've been reading up on it in my PSM mag from like 5 months and the day it came out I bought it. I love puzzle combat, its so much fun. If I had to rate this game its a 4.7 out of 5.

Has anyone heard any rumors of anymore unlockable characters? This is another thing I love about the mortal kombat games. They have "secrets".

I'm getting pretty good at this game. I won 16 in a row last night on x-box live. That beats my previous record of losing 24 in a row. :beam:

I picked it up not too long ago but I haven't played it much because it was overshadowed by like 20-30 games I've bought since then. I keep meaning to get back to playing it because it's sweet!

Is it anything like MK DA? Because my brother convinced me to buy that game and it sucked.

It is pretty similar to DA, but much improved.
Similarities:
Krypt
Fighting System
Differences:
Konquest mode has been revamped completely
Puzzle and Chess Kombat have been added
Live Play
A much deeper game than DA
More fatalaties, and Hiri Kira (spell?)
I pretty much hated DA, but I love Deception. Then again, I have been into Mortal Kombat for well over ten years now, so this may be a biased opinion ;)

yeah I loved MK from the start when playing MK 1 in the arcades. I remember how fascinated I was with the fatalities heh. I've like most of them up to DA. Thats by far my least favorite.

Deception has some sweet fatalities. First of all every character has 2 fatalities. Secondly, almost every fighting arena has a stage fatality. You can knock you opponent into a bed of spikes, grinder, some creatures mouth, and even some kind of metal stamping machine. Finally, the kicker is that this time around they have added Hara-Kiri (I know that's not spelled right), which means that you can take your own life. For example at the end of the match if you can mash some sequence of buttons before your opponent can pull of the fatality, you get to kill yourself. It's great.
