View Full Version : Save Picture As... Problem

You know when you right click on an image on a web site (ex. Funny Images from Kirupa Threads) and you select "Save Picture As..."? Well I do that and everytime the only option I have to be able to save the image as is a bitmap format. No matter what image type the file is I can only save it as a bitmap. It is driving me insane, but I have a feeling there are others with the same problem.
Thanks in advance.

I think that's happened to me in IE before. Can you choose open image in new window and then try right click save?
or try it in NS or FF

PB, when I right click and try to save your footer it only lets me save using bitmap format. When I take the direct link to your image (http://www.ethanmichael.com/kirupa/300.jpg) and right click to save the image it still only lets me save in bitmap mode. But the .gif avatars we have it's letting me save as .gif so I don't really know what is going on.
I'm going to friggin kill someone.

When I have the bitmap problem, I've found the quickest way to save a pic is to right-click and choose 'email picture...', then drag the file attachment from your outlook email window to the desktop.

Kirupa!!! It worked. You are like the database of every answer into one robot brain.
We need to get more kirupa bots and place them all over the world. It would help reduce the levels of ignorance in those areas.
You're the best, wish I had a nickle for everytime you saved my uberly ignorant arse.
Thanks for the link talkshowhost. That was exactly what I was looking for too.

This is not the place or time to start a big discussion. If that post wasn't meant to start one, it's a bit useless because everyone here knows about it.

I'm happy with it other than a few little annoyances, but they are much smaller than the large annoyances that IE gave me... like highjacking...

I always know its time to clear temp files when I can't get View Source to work or when I get the .BMP option for saving pictures :)
