well.... it's ok.... I think it looks kind of tabelish. It reminds me of soemthing created with the templates on geocities. I would add some graphics to make it more lively.

I dunno MT, i'm usually a fan of your work, but i'm just really not feelin this one. I'm not sure what's bothering me about it, but it just seems to plain.

But maybe that's what your aiming for?

Hm.. now that i look at it that way, it does seem pretty unnatural. I'm trying to create an unequality of balance, but also a universal style. Guess this one doesn't reflect that at all :lol:

K i'll go back to revising it.

P.S. Is red a good colour (general background style colour) for a site that has content? Would it seem too generically shiny/weird/bright/static?

Red? well depeding on how you pull it off i'd say sure. as long as it isn't to loud i think you'll be fine.

i hear ya with what your trying to do, and i think your on the right track. can't wait to see what you can do with this.

I think a little more symetry would do you good. If I were you I would make the righthand box (the one that says "right") the same size as your nav box.
Also the nav needs a little more weight in the letters themselves, my attention is drawn to the black boxes (in front of programming, design and misc.) instead of the words themselves.

That's just a default skin that came with Movable Type. Oh well.
