Menu Effect

Hi, I am currently working on an online portfolio. But I am stuck with the menu. I have no idea on what kind of effect I can give to menu for rollover. Here is the menu. Any ideas?

hmmm, you can do all sorts of stuff with that. You can just do a simple highlight where you fill the box with a low opacity white square. You could do some sort of pulsing effect like this, www.mercer.edu/sea - some of my older work. you could have a white square come from the right hand side and stop on whatever button your on. you could have a low opacity square look like it comes from under the main banner and come down covering the button when you mousover.

any different ideas? Shining effect would be good (not like the one in tutorial in kirupa), Like the sunshine, but I dont know how to do that.

try using a combination of internal glow (for the boxes) and satin maybe ?

not feeling it. If you go over the buttons real fast a bnch of time you can have a bunch of the glow things flying across. Actually that is kinda amusing to see how many you can get on the screen.

I actually like the effect but you need to get rid of the over lapping as said. One glow ball per button enough.

i with ddd on this one, not feeling it..

i think the glow on the buttons are fine but those little glow dots have to go.. personally i would try expanding the top border a little and within its gap have a little bar(same size as selected button) that a colour illuminates on rollover.
