_blank page Problem

Sorry i know i shouldn't post here, but i just can't get it done

I have a page with a logo (.jpg) if you click on the logo a _blank page comes up (the homepage)
If you close this homepage i want a message to be displayed on the first page, so the first jpg changes to something that says thank you for visiting my homepage...

How can i do this? Does anybody know?

I replied to this thread a billion times in HTML/Javascript....haha. You will see why I did so much.
