Style/Color Mockup C&C please!

Hey guys... Im doing a site to promote some beach properties (condos) on the Island of Cozumel Mexico (South East of Cancun). So obviously I want to have a tropical, kinda relaxed feel, but without anything cheezy. The sunsets there are amazing so I am trying to use a similar color palatte. Also yellow can be a bit much so I am going to try and incorporate some texture to tone it down. Over all I am looking for warm inviting colors a casual yet luxury feel.

Here is my first of what will be many mockups... this small piece uses the colors textures and styles that would be utilized throughout the site (if I choose to use this one).

well i like it so far, good start...not much to crit.

the yellow was a bit hard on my eyes, tone it down a bit i think...

I think it's a way oversaturated with yellow.

I like it. The way the image works with the yellow is nice. I wouldn't mind seeing it with a darker background color. Perhaps orangish?

it looks pretty good but as the others said, too much yellow, it hurts the eyes

yellow is too bright - and that gray text is washing out

have to see the colors adjusted before anything else could be said.

Actually... although it's bright... it's not bad at all. Basically when ppl see things they've never seen B4 they always think it won't work. But really it depends on concept you're tryin to work on. But the Cozmuel text... bad choice of a font.

Simplistik: I am still in limbo on the text... sometimes it works for and others I think it is horrible - so obviously it isnt right. Im looking into it.

As far as the yellow, I really want it to be a main theme color of the site, but I am looking into some blue backgrounds, kinda giving the look of sun over blue ocean...

I dunno, I've got some ideas, and Ill post when their done. Again thanks for eveything you have all said so far. Please keep it coming when I post next, youre all a great help!

I'm not feelin' the yellow at all. I like the background texture but I'd like it to be more like a sandy coloured canvas. If it were me I'd go with blues, whites, sandy colours with some small red accents on things like beach chairs and umbrellas.

I definitely like tha other colors better, it gives more contrast to the image and draws your eyes to what you want to be seeing.

Yea I like the tan too. It might be cool if you added some stitching or maybe some frayed edges to the canvas.

I'm also curious to know what it would look like with some different colours besides the yellow. It looks like such a fun project.
