Hmmm, looks pretty good, however, I don't know if having paragraphs to read is really necessary in an intro. Maybe summarizing all that into short little phrases would work better.

Good job though :thumb:

It's also kinda hard to read the vertical scrolling text at the end becasue it is long and scrolls quickly...

New Antidote to Botulism: Drug neutralizes toxin in mouse tests

http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20020810/fob7.asp

Week of Aug. 10, 2002

A drug was discovered to disable a deadly botulism know as a botulism toxin better than the recent treatment. This drug has already been stated to be mass produced as a deterrent or worse a weapon. In earlier years scientists did find out the antibodies that people and animals develop when exposed to the botulism vaccine. They fashioned this from two mice, and one from a person, and they found that they bind well to the certain toxin. Alone each fail to knock it out, but through many tests and experiments they have found that two of them knocks it somewhat out, and all three working together neutralize botulin. This was found out by the researchers report in a Proceeding of the National Academy of Sciences. Tests on mice proved to be extremely effecting. When they diagnosed the mice with triple antidote. It protected mice from high amounts of the toxin far beyond those that are normally lethal. Through later years scientists will use the seven known types of botulin for their study. With this strategy and evidence they will be evidence to succeed in developing many antidotes against all six other types. This will be a great advancement in their studies says many scientists also studying this subject. In Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in a city called Atlanta names botulism as one of the six most dangerous bioterrorism threats. They have stated that one single gram of botulin dispersed evenly in a form that could be inhaled would kill 1 million people.

Author: Janet Raloff Leaden Chocolates http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20051105/food.asp Week of Nov. 5, 2005

Chocolates are a favorite piece of candy in many people’s lives, but few know what it contains in it. It was stated that chocolates are among the more lead-contaminated foods. They have done many tests, and have concluded that the source of lead to chocolate is not the cocoa bean. Chocolates concentrations of the toxic metal were the lowest recorded for any food product. This was noticed before 2005, but in an earlier year. It was found out in a lawsuit 2002, but good for California that the suit against the chocolate makers was withdrawn. This was brought up in recent news by Environmental Health Perspectives to identify the main source of lead in everyone’s favorite candy, chocolate. After many strenuous tests on finding the main source of iron in chocolate they have all failed every time so far. Some scientists stated that it should be easy to find the main source of iron in chocolate because we already eliminated one of the main sources we were thinking of which was the cocoa bean. Since they figured out that it’s not from the cocoa bean they can just check when it’s in production to find where this source of iron is coming from. This problem is considered to be worse for some. Mainly worried on young children or elderly individuals living with lead-tainted pipes or paint, eating lots of chocolate.

Graduation brings stress in many kids’ lives, and finding a job that can be fun and interesting can be very stressful. Chemistry offers many cool and interesting jobs that might appeal to anybody. Most people are not aware of the cool jobs that chemistry offers to the world. Chemistry offers the job of being a chemistry chronicler. This job lets you write about scientific subjects. If you like writing and science this would be a great job for you says Jessica Gorman. Another job that chemistry offers is being a real-life crime scene investigator. This job inspired a hit TV show CSI. This job allows you to go to a real life crime scene investigation, and you unfold mysteries everyday. Elzbieta Kubicz, Forensic Chemist, says most of her works centers on illegal drugs. Where she has to find out what they are since many street drugs look the same. Another Job is a cosmetic chemist. Cosmetic chemists rely on organic chemistry, analytical techniques, and a broad range of other scientific disciplines to craft the latest cutting-edge face creams, lotions, and hair care products. The last of the four cool jobs that will interest new chemistry lovers is a food chemist. This allows you to keep quality consistent and improve taste in most foods like pop tarts and waffles.

White teeth have always been a must in most popular and famous people’s teeth. There is an exception for the Japanese women of the highest social rank. They prefer to have their teeth painted not white, but black. This is because the white teeth which most people prefer resembles to them white tiles placed in temples to honor the dead. So they have their teeth painted black for mainly that reason. Having the pearly white smile is hard to grasp in todays society. Drinks like espresso and cola drinks prevent this by coloring your teeth brown or a different color. That is why chemists have tried to make products that can help your teeth be white by developing a vast array of pastes, gels, and strips, and can be used anywhere even at your home. The structure of the tooth contains the enamel, dentin, pulp, and gum. Enamel is the hardest tissue in the body, and dentin gives the tooth it’s color. So by passing light through the enamel to the underlying layer which is dentin they can change it’s color to the ever so favorite white. Brushing your teeth helps eliminate some of the superficial staining from dark pigments that stain the enamel of the tooth such as cigarettes, blueberries, and other foods.

Author: Carolyn Ruth “Fizz” and “Wiz” Chem Matters Dec 2003

Hydrogen peroxide is most known for being in a brown bottle, and being put on a cut of some sort, or from some kind of hair bleaching formulas that you might use for you hair. This compound was discovered by a guy with the name of Baron Louis-Jacques Thenard in the year of 1818. It’s stated that traces of hydrogen peroxide was found associated with water and snow and the atmosphere. Hydrogen Peroxide is formed by the action of ultraviolet light or strong sunlight on water containing dissolved oxygen. Many plants and animals use this as a part of their defense mechanism. It helps by using enzymes to produce hydrogen perxide to aid the plants and animals if they are ever attacked by a microbe or insect intruder. What it releases is hydrogen peroxide then helps to destroy unwanted organic chemicals introduced by the intruder. It’s said to be fairly viscous liquid with a density of 1.46 g/cm cubed. Hydrogen has the same odor as that of nitric acid. It looks different in small quanties than large quantities. It’s clear and colorless, but in bulk, it is bluish.
