Hi everyone,
I would like to inform everyone of a new Flash scripting contest to be held here. In this contest, you basically try to make something cool using a grid pattern. The top entry will garner its creator a free copy of Electric Rain's Swift 3D V3.

Hey eilsoe!

Not out of ideas, out of talent i think... for me at least.
I'm a designer, not a coder.... :P
At least I still have 3 entries... Although I don't think I'll win.

Yeah, I am in that boat eilsoe. I am not out of ideas, I have massive amounts of ideas, but absolutely no ability to carry them out.
I'm really having a hard time wth the trigonometry tutorial. So many things to say... So here's an idea: why don't you try an get familiar with the subject there: http://www.actionscript.org/tutorials/advanced/trigonometry_and_flash/index.shtml
It's very thourough, and I wouldn't be able to explain is better. Once you've done that, you can check that one too http://www.actionscript.org/tutorials/advanced/Mouse_Angle_Detection_II/index.shtml
And then I'll make a tutorial on how to use all this in a movie. What do you think? I'd like to have your opinion too, Kirupa: is it OK if I give reference to actionscript.org in a tutorial?

Wait... I'm confused... I was taught, that radians go from 0 to 2 PI, but one of the swf's show all up to 3 PI!!!... (???)
WHAT??? :q: :q: 3 PI? Where?

Hey Pom,
Sure, you can give reference to anybody who needs to be given reference. I am not picky as some other sites who believe that knowledge and information should be contained instead of shared. Feel free to link, give credit to, etc. to any site that you feel like using. I'd rather that they received credit for their information than not :)
Cheers!

I think when you reach 3 PI it denotes another half revolution in the same direction
That's correct... Radans goes like such:
1 PI = 180 degrees
2 PI = 360 degrees
3 PI = 540 degrees or 180 degrees
4 PI = 720 degrees or 360 degrees
And so on and so forth.
Peace Out,
Marz <:}
