setting quality independently

Does anyone know if it is possible to set the quality of a particular movie clip rather than the entire flash movie?

I have treid but with no luck.
For example, say i wanted to start a drag of a movie clip. So when it started, the quality of that particular movie clip would be set to 'low' then when the drag is stopped it is set back to 'best'

Any ideas?

I don't think it's possible to have different Flash playback qualities running in the same movie.

Don't think you can either. Except maybe if you were to load that clip as a separate swf with its own quality settings... I didn't test it, and I seriously doubt that it could work, actually.

If you load a movie, doesn't it automatically take on the qualities of the parent movie you load it into? The frame rate and quality included (with the exception of MX's new setInterval feature).
