So now in the news we can read that not only is she engaged to another one of her back-up dancers. The husband to be is awaiting the birth of his second child with another woman. So way to go stealing the babies daddy away Brittney. Not only that Brittney is pregnant her self. Way to go future husband knocked up two different girls at the same time!
Brittney is the poster child for middle-america redneck culture. She's never been that beutiful, she's just been slutty hot and not she's just gone slutty.
and that's my 2 cents.

Hi, ummm, I have some interesting thoughts on the Bush administration and um...I am engaged to my dancer and um well, I was married before for like fun *pops bubble gum*, yeah so there is a baby on the way for him, but it's all good and then I am or was a virgin.
Please I would hate to have a child idolizing the likes of Britney...or X-tina

I am so glad I don't have a teenage daughter growing up right now with the role models of Brittney Spears and Paris Hilton. At least x-stina has pulled her act together and isn't acting all slutty like she used to.

AARRGGHHHH
I f***ing hate Britney f***ing Spears
She can't sing, she can dance but so what people can train chimps to dance, she can't act. It bugs me that that much money goes to stupid b***hes like Britney. At least x-tina has a voice (listen to Beautiful, man what a voice :thumb: ). I think she made Justin look like a p**ck with this "I'm a virgin" thing cause everyone was beginning to wonder if he was gay or not and don't get me started on what she did to that poor guy she married for 12 hours, if thats what she does to lifelong friends...man I hate her.
I read one time (I think it was Rolling Stone, not sure) that this reporter was to interview Britney in her hotel room. But the guy got his times wrong and arrived at the hotel an hour early so he went round the corner and had lunch in this restaurant. Sitting in the corner of the restaurant with her dancers was Britney. He decided not to go over and bother her so he just had his lunch and then went round to do the interview. In the hotel room he introduced himself but he didn't mention having just seen her in the restaraunt. Do you know what the stupid b**ch told him she'd just being doing....
She gave a big stretch, yawned and told him she'd just had a nap...what the fu :h:
Her whole personality is one big act, what a phony

She could sing Rabbell and she started because of her talent at the Micky Mouse. She started of really good like tracks like sometimes and her first album was really touching, until later she went more into dance and all that erotic stuff, i didnt like her anymore. Good talent but the environment has affected her and now goes down the bad track. There are more beautiful women than her.
RabBell
July 1st, 2004, 09:05 AM
Sorry MINIMALISTIK I don't agree that she can sing any better than others I've heard.
She's the princess of pop (apparently) her voice should be amazing...it's not.
I've heard better singers on American/Pop Idol but they didn't get their chance cause they don't have 'it'. I'll admit that Britney has 'it' but not the voice to go with it.
Compare Britney to Beyonce, Christina and Alicia Keys and you'll see what I mean about her voice.

Whoa! A lot of Britney haters here. lol
I don't know why anyone would hate her because she can't sing. I mean I think she deserves a lot of credit for her accomplishments because she doesn't have an outstanding voice. I agree she's "played" but I could really care less what she does with herself. As for JT being gay; I'd say c'mon now? I bet he's tapped more supermodel arse then us kirupians can shake a stick at.

How about Tom Jones?

there are thousands of people with better voices, or more stylized to thier type of music. They aren't horrible, but they are not "musical maistros."
They are where they are because of thier "pretty boy features", not by any amount of great musical ability.
The rest of the bands are incredible.
I say the same about Roger Daltry, Robert Plant, Robert Palmer. All pretty boys, which were lucky enough to hook up with really good musicians.
That is my only point.
Pretty boys will make good fronts for fantastic musicians. Why do you think Eric Clapton was in 5 bands before he made it on his own? Because no one would buy his albums until he was known as a guitar god, becuase he is one homely mofo...

I guess, but it's not like britney where they suck, they are good and it does fit their music very well...
reverendflash
July 1st, 2004, 03:26 PM
Britney doesn't suck.
She just doesn't have an extraordinary voice.
She hits the right notes, in the right sequence, and can dance to the steps she is taught (she doesn't sing in concert, it is all lip sync due to the amount of dancing involved).
Steven Tyler isn't much better. At least he doesn't lip sync.
Axel is just an arsehole idiot primadonna (and I was a huge GNR fan, even saw them in a 1500 seat theater in 1989), who's talent has been shown. Anyone listen to Velvet Revolver? That just shows that Axel is crap, that Duff and Slash were the ones who made that band rock...
again, only my opinion.

I spend quite a bit of time listening to live music, and I have for over 25 years... Fortunately, I live in a town full of small venues, which attract some pretty huge people (saw Prince with 200 others, saw the Grateful Dead play for 150, just to name a few)...
therefore, I have come to several opinions about the music I've seen. It's easy to defend an opinion, as long as you have thought about it before you state it...

Seriously, SF gets more live music in 4 months than Austin gets all year. New York or Chicago gets more live music in a day than Austin gets in a month...
Austin is cool, for Texas anyway, but is nowhere near the live music capital of the world...
Austin is thought of as a cool place for moderate artistic rednecks to go, and not be hassled by the artist liberals who also live there...
I've seen Austin, and have friends who have lived there. They have confirmed to me that Austin is cool.....
.... for Texas.

Yup you are correct.
No one likes the San Francisco sound...
The Grateful Dead.
Santana.
Jefferson Airplane.
Train.
Vinyl.
Hot Tuna.
Any Original Funk band (if you allow Oakland in the mix, it is only across the bay...)
or any of the other local bands which have become multi-multi-billionaires...
Now, who has come out of Austin (besides the Austin Lounge Lizards)?

Nanci Griffith is psuedo popular. Los Lonely Boys are not famous by any means. When was the last time any of your list played a 60,000 seat stadium gig?
None of them even come close to Santana, or The Grateful Dead, or Jefferson Airplane. All have played stadium gigs most of thier careers.
You say The Police came from Austin?
Stewart Copeland (http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/copeland_stewart/artist.jhtml) and Sting (http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/sting/artist.jhtml) (b. Gordon Sumner) formed the Police (http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/police/artist.jhtml) in 1977. Prior to the band's formation, Copeland (http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/copeland_stewart/artist.jhtml), the son of a CIA agent, had attended college in California, before he moved to England and joined the progressive rock band Curved Air (http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/curved_air/artist.jhtml). Sting (http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/sting/artist.jhtml) was a teacher and a ditch digger that played in jazz-rock bands, including Last Exit, on the side. The two musicians met at a local jazz club and decided to form a progressive pop band with guitarist Henry Padovani. For the first few months, the group played local London pubs. Soon, they were hired to appear as a bleached-blonde punk band in a chewing gum commercial. While the commercial provided exposure, it drew the scorn of genuine punkers. Late in 1977, the band released their first single, "Fall Out," on I.R.S., an independent label Stewart Copeland (http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/copeland_stewart/artist.jhtml) founded with his brother Miles, who was also the manager of the Police (http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/police/artist.jhtml). The single was a siazable hit for an independent release, selling about 70,000 copies. I don't think so...
Also, SXSW is cool, but we have lots and lots of music festivals here.
Try again.
Austin is cool, just not the center of live music.
Jeff Wheeler

I was just going by a website, and the one's you haven't heard of are just as good as the greatful dead (maybe not the other's though) and the los lonely boys even beat Santana, maybe you should do your research, I said better, not famous :to:
reverendflash
July 1st, 2004, 05:41 PM
then it is all subjective.
I said Austin was not the center of live music.
I said Austin was not producing more successful bands than SF.
If you wish to make it your opinion on who is better, then we may as well enter Andrew Freeman.
IMO, he is better than all the ones you listed (yes I have heard most of them, but they are not huge artists)...
How can Los Lonely Boys "beat" Santana, when there is not a competition? Santana has won a Grammy. Has Los Lonely Boys? Have they played a stadium?
Come on Pixels, don't pick at crap, just to win a useless argument which you started by saying Austin was the world center for live music.
