Hey Guys,

I need your opinion on this art work. It is a combination of AI and PS. I am still working on the face and hair style. I am finding it pretty difficult to get the perfect look for the hair style.

I am working on my portfolio and your feedback will surely help me to improve.

Thanks

the wings are very nice.

The details on the outline of the figure could be improved by.... using a smaller stroke, or by using multiple layers and opacity.

your reference to ps is photoshop right?, or paint shop...
I am assuming it's photoshop because of adobe illustrator.

hair - depending on what your imagining.. you might want to use softer strokes (lower opacity strokes) for a softer - more lifelife hair, then you may want to add highlights and coarseness on top of that.

Let me know if this helps.
Anthony - BVision.

ps. one major thing, as an aspiring artist i am one of the most critical people on digital artwork, especially my own.. or those who ask for it...

- The jaggedness of the lines of your curves give an amateur feel. You may want to experiment to get rid of those... hide them as much as possible.

Remember, experimentation is key.
You never learn unless you try.

Hair: Way to blurry, looks like a blob.

Body: Ouch, that's some funky kind of yoga she's got goin on there. The way her upper body is twisted isn't right.

Her left breast should be larger than her right since it's closer.

Thigh: I looove thick thighs.. but that's thick at the top.

Face: The line for the bridge of the nose should be centered. Right eye needs to be fixed, looks like a lazy eye. Eyebrows may be a little to wide.

Well... you asked, and so shall you recieve. haha.

Anyway, understand, I am by no means trying to influence your way of thinking or your 'path' to educational enlightenment. However, I have knowledge of both of these fields and am currently trying my hand at both. -- :puzzled:

In Gui design, it's much more static, meaning that there really is'nt going to be a lot that you can change - However you may find creativity within those constrictions. ie, having to design a gui for a client that needs a professional gui. You may have many more restrictions on your work, It will also be more critical to know and understand the critical technical components of the work you are doing. You, more often than not will have to do some low level code/as/vb/ etc to get your point accross. In other words, your work will be under a microscope when completed, for the most important thing - user navigability (?sp).

In digital artwork / animation... it's totally creative (from what i've found).
If creativity is your thing, it's the way to go. Yes, you may have specific deadlines, critical elements that you have to use (ie: logo, animated character, etc.), but the way in which you do things is going to be totally up to you. -- Much more freedom in the way of creativity here....

-- Warning -- In today's market it's soooo important to have a taste of a little bit of everything. So as you can import things from other fields, and you can make your design all the better.

If fame is your thing, When is the last time you've heard about a famous graphical user interface designer? ... (i'm still searching on that one)

Your've definately heard of the makers of the special effects for armeggeddon and lord of the rings:trilogy. (their names are'nt coming to me right now... :h: )

Hope this Helps.
