Lower quality, make shorter movie.. not much you can do straight from ae that i know of. I would suggest you invest in sorenson squeeze. Excellent program.

Try exporting as:

Quicktime Sorenson Video3

might help a bit

Berk - let the AE Pro handle this okay?

Elwatie don't listen to berk, he doesn't know what he's talking about :bad:.

Actually he's absolutely right. Sorenson Video 3 gives some pretty good results :)! I use highest quality always. But there's nothing you can do about the file size really. Turns out a couple of MBs.

Don't worry though - quicktime tends to load MBs really fast. Just dont export as .swf - it'll take forever.

Lol - I think it'll be fun to have an AE battle. What do you say? Haven't done anything for quite some time. Just for fun berk? I know it'll be really cool to have an AE battle between us :D.

I am no pro by ANY means :krazy:.

Let me think about it and I´ll tell u, to be honest I dont want to make u look bad in front of all the kirupa members, but if u ask for it, u´ll get it :bad:

ok seriously, lol, I like the idea, I´ve never had a battle in here, could be fun......:) but let´s keep in the waiting list, I have some projects this week, so let´s do it next, what do u think?

Lol - the battle will be on just pure design :).

AE battle would be cool. I'd join if it was opened to more members. I'd be slaughtered, since I've had AE for a week...

Please get back on-topic guys, this is also interesting for other AE users like me ;) I tend to have some problems with exporting the movie, just like the topic starter i find it hard to get a good quality and a small file size.

P.S. An After Effects battle would be very nice. I would like to see what you can achieve with this program since i just started with it.

how to export a AE movie(mov),in a small file(kb)?i tried to export it but it always be a file worth megabytes....Sorenson3 works a treat when using it on its own or when your not looking for alpha channels.

Are you planning to use this within flash? or just as a .mov?

edit:: you can also try avi form compressions such as mpeg-4 or Divx (if you have that codec installed) these are known to compress quite well.
