Hello, Greetings, cheers, whatsup,

has anyone heard of a plugin for Photoshop that re-render pictures w/o loss of quality. Example: I have a 3 by 4 300 dpi pic and I need it in 9 by 12 in 300 dpi... I`ve heard rumors of such, but could`t exaclty identify one.

thanks in advance,

m.

I'd agree, there is no way to do that with ps because it's not vector so their's always going to be loss with bitmap (my sentences never make any sense)

supposedly yes....that`s why it is re-rendered. I actually saw it on a friends machine, but forgot the name and he is unavailable jsut now. I didn`t belive him myself, so I`m trying to do some research

there really isnt much to "render" you have no source other than your current "output," and what you want is to make it 3 times larger without losing quality based on information which just does not exist. About the only thing that you can do (which PS does on its own) is apply some kind of interpolation which will basically blend your edges to scale more appropriate visually. This actually is better for sizing things down, but it can be applied to enlarging all the same. Otherwise you dont have much else of an option (that I know of) aside from getting the original image at the specifications desired.

I think you are looking for photozoom used to be called s-spline and another called genuine fractals. I use these all the time to take 72 dpi images to 300. And it usually does pretty well. Photozoom is a standalone as well as a plugin. Good stuff to have around

i was thinking on the same lines as DDD with genuine fractals. It actual work pretty good.

I heard of something similar, but the program was called "Upscale"
