Hey everyone,

This past week I have been working on a re-design/re-work of MJNewsOnline. These changes are mainly backend, but they have benefitted the frontend design too. I have created some new flash for the site, and given it a whole new feel. It loads superfast, due to its CSS-based layout (which works perfect on all the latest browsers btw).

Anyway, I am not great with colour, though I seem to be getting better at it... I want you guys to look at this site from a professional point of view, not in a "its great for what it is" POV.

One comment I have had so far is to smoothen out the vector graphics a bit more, which I agree with.

What I am going to do with the banner flash, is put in little buttons so that the user can change the banner photo, which will then store than info in a cookie so they have their chosen photo in the banner all the time.

Anyway, let me give you what you want: http://www.mjnewsonline.com/temp/css/

Thanks. :)

This is a prime example of a good website :) simple but to the point and sets out like lounge72 or Kirroii. Great job on the layout and with the basis of css, it brings out the most of the colors and graphics. You only had 2 flash areas which is good since you dont want to overload it. The organisation and colors fit well. When its done, give it some rollovers for the menu and keep the information regulary updated. ;)

yeah I agree, its a very nice little site. I think your use of colour has been very good so far although I'd like to see how the rest of the site comes along. I'm not sure about the smaller picture though, I don't think it looks so good and whats the blank space to the right of it? it looks out of place.

I you feel like returning the favour you can give me a critique:

Yeh, that and the header isnt actually finalized. The only thing which will certainly look the same in the end is the layout.

I might throw a single-pixel dark grey border around the individual sections.

Subject matter is a little concerning, though. That guy should be in :jail: by now.
