Concert:
........Journey......
"The Infinity Tour " 1979 in L.A.
They were recording live for the "Captured" album, which in my opinion is the best Journey album ever made... and the least played.

WHY:
Because I became a diehard Journey fan at that concert... they were live the sound was original they still had there jazz roots, progressive sound.. it was hard to believe 5 guys were able to produce such energy from that stage...

The best single performance concert has been Paul McCartney a couple of years ago in Baltimore. Amazing show. The most fun I've had, however, have been at "festival" type shows like Ozzfest Where there are at least 2 bands playing at any one time. I cant pick out any one in paricular.

1994 Ben Harper opened up for Ali Farke Toure (from Mali)...

Blew me away.

By far, the most emotion reaching guitarist I have ever heard. I was hooked immediately, and have seen Ben at least 15 times since, each one a fantastic event, each time he shows me something I have not seen before, either through CD or live event. I am always guaranteed a good time at a Ben Harper concert.

Bowling For Soup last year were also pretty cool - they were probably the only band I've ever seen that could actually talk and improvise in between songs. They rocked. :) As did Linkin Park / Lost Prophets back in December.

But my two favourite ones would have to be The Offspring about 3 years ago (when they'd released Conspiracy of One) and The Stereophonics at Wembley - memorable for being almost within touching distance of Kelly Jones (who is God), the most excellent selection of songs, and going with my best mate who I also fancied the pants off of. :beam:

The most Memorable two are in the U.S.

1) 1988 - Depeche Mode at the Rose Bowl - the 101 historical show
2) Guns and Roses supported by Faith no More

My top two are Radiohead at the hollywood bowl in 01 and A Perferct Circle a few weeks ago here in bozeman montana. Radiohead, because i am so obsessed, costed me about 300 bucks for two tickets, scalped of couse. And the Perfect Circle show was in the tinyest of venues =)

the absolute most memorable was my first *real* concert - The Byrds at the Occidental College amphitheater, L.A. spring of '66 ... admission was 50¢ a head

..they were pushing their "Eight Miles High" single right about when some very sweet herbs were floating in from Acapulco :gm: .. :d:

I've been to a few good shows, none lately though...

Ben Harper did a free show in Denver a few years back that was amazing. I saw De La Soul in a pretty small local joint and that was pretty nuts too. My favorites are still the small punk show - tons of energy and liquored up fans. Good Times.

I want to see APC, but haven't had a chance. They're actually playing at red rocks (http://redrocksonline.com/01_redrockspark/01_5_tour.html) tomorrow but I can't go :(

One and only concert i've been to and i thought it was so kick arse...

Skate and Surf Fest 04' in ashbury park New Jersey

Greatest group of Punk bands you whould ever catch

Avenged Sevenfold
Bear Vs. Shark
Story of the year
etc.

I was attempting to go to the Killswitch Engage/In Flames/As i lay dying Concert but my Sister had extra shifts leaving me Rideless. that whould have been by far the best concert to exist

Last year the end of the Absolution tour in exeter westpoint. Got an earful from their tour manager for taking "professional" photos. He confescated my films and memory cards, so i threatned to sue. Needless to say i got my images back and made a nice lil' profit from the sales. I also met Mat Bellamy and the dude from Elbow.

Oh, I forgot one - I saw Chesney Hawkes the other year at Jumpin' Jaks in Maidstone. Now that was a classic. They even handed out fake stick-on moles. :beam:

I would have to say Ozzfest 99. The last of the great Ozzfests.

You havent seen a good concert until you've seen a german group called Rammstien.
(they play the opening song to the triple x film with van Deisel).

Oasis at Lancashire county cricket club were tops too.

Would love ta see System of a down tho!

Buzz Bake Sale 2001

...Alien Ant Farm...
I saw these guys at Big Day Out 2002 (maybe?) and they were absolutely horrible. The biggest losers on stage... they were incredibly annoying.

Best concert so far would be Tool in Canberra where they played a small venue (because we are a small city) and I got right up the front on the barrier in front of the guitarist.

Honourable mentions go to A Perfect Circle who I saw twice in Sydney. The second night was better than the first because it wasn't sold out and plus we didn't have a bunch of idiots trying to mosh to songs. For those that know first names... at the end... Billy, Jeordie and Josh came back...Billy started playing drums, Jeordie started playing guitar and then Billy got off for Josh and grabbed a bass and they started playing Metallica's Master of Puppets. Twas pretty cool. :mu:

I saw them when they did the Big Day Out. They are absolutely terrible live, I'd save your money.

I haven't gone to see a good band in a while, ticket prices are way to high these days.

My two favorite in no particular order are:

TOOL in 2001 playing at the Shoreline Amphitheater. They closed with Opiate, one of my favorite songs, although I wish I would have gotten to see them back during their tour with Rage

Medeski, Martin, and Wood in 2003 at Villa Montalvo, absolutely amazing show. Chris Wood is the best bass player I have ever seen live.

When, Where, and Why they were the best?

August 1995, Detroit - Bjork with Richard D. James opening.

November 2000, Minneapolis - Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Kid Koala, Dan "The Automator" Nakamura

December 2003, San Fran - Iggy Pop

April 2004, Minneapolis - The Pixies

Why? Because they are the only ones I actually remember anything about.

I went to see the "Up In Smoke Tour" a couple years back in Toronto. It was my first ever concert and it was amazing!

Warren G, Ice Cube, Mack 10, WC, Xzibit, Devin the Dude, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Eminem

It was like a bloody utopia for me :)

Hmmm....tough call...

Probably the best of the best was Tool at the Wallace Civic Center in 97 during the Aenima tour....crazy show....

Right after that would have to be the Rolling Rock Town Fair 2.0 a few years back. Drove down to east arsejam PA. Great....great stuff...

And lastly Ozzfest 99 (Right on RMB) defintily one of the last good ozzfests.
