Hello everyone!

Alright here's the deal. I know that google doesn't read text from flash files but I'm wondering if this includes links as well. You see my problem is that I'm creating a local attractions section for a site I'm working on and most of the sites in this mini directory have a pagerank of zero and very little good content so I don't want to link to them. I'm thinking that if I put the links in a flash file then google won't be able to detect them and it won't mess up the relevence ranking of the site. Is this true?

Any comments on this matter is mucho appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill :beam:

This is up for a great debate right now. Google can read text and links in flash, and have been able to for quite some time. The debate is over whether they are actually starting to use this in their ranking, SERPS, and PR.

I know for a fact, that linking from flash is now being tracked and counted in passing along PR, but the text itself is still being passed over for some reason.

Aw that sucks. I kind of figured that much considering that there would be an awful lot of web developers like me taking advantage of this.

I guess the only thing I can do is to obtain all of the businesses in this mini directory as clients and build them a good site. <insert half joking smiley>
