Some information required

I need to make this dynamic flash site with a photogallery and a news page
each picture also need to have a set of information on it that get's displayed.

i figured this requires the use of XML, PHP and MySQL (duh) but i have little or no experience do this, so if people could throw me a bone with some usefull links on how to do this, that would be awesome :)

There is a tutorial on Kirupa.com that I wrote that shows you how to take mySQL data and turn it into XML using PHP. You may want to start there. And then there are a bunch of tutorials that show you how to bring XML into Flash and manipulate it.
