Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.. but im desperate :( i have previously used after effects before but i havent for about 6 months. i have a copy of 5.5 and 6 and when i import audio in it will either freeze, import in and when i try ram preview it will freeze and come up with a "error log has been created please restart the program" i have tried to convert the mp3 to wav this did not work.. i also tried converting it to .aiff as someone suggested but it said that it does not support this file! (ive got quicktime installed so i am not sure why) ive tried everything.. ive also got a gig of ram and i jus recently got a whole new machine so its brand spanking new! i also tried without my firewall on and antivirus to no avail.. really really puzzled at the moment :(

If anyone has any SUGGESTIONS or anything! that i could try that would b really really super!

first have a look at your properties settings and check audio, see if there is anything odd there,

If you successfully import the audio, try not to ram preview it, and just render it out, see if that works, if so then just import that rendered video file with the audio and use that instead.

i had this weird bug that did the same thing when the audio options were displayed (ie you click the little arrow which shows the audio properties in the timeline) - are yours displayed ?

OK heres the deal everyone thanks so much for ur help! my boyfriend sat for 2 days lol working it out and we finally did it... the way we solved this (not sure if this is the right way) was by converting the mp3 to .wma file and it works fine! and ram preview! thanks everyone agaiN! :)
