hello guys from the Philippines.
i'd like to know the status of freelancing in the Philippines. I am thinking of moving to freelancing but I still have no idea on where to start. Can you give me some tips and some sites that offers freelance projects...
thanks in advance...

Parasite I've never found any good work online. Maybe it's just my luck but the four or five jobs I got from freelance sites have sucked. I made very little money and didn't get paid at all in one instance.
Firstly I'd suggest that you don't call yourself a freelancer. It just sounds unprofessional. Secondly, I'd say that you should be talking to everyone you know and getting the word out that you're in business. If you know of anyone in a management position or someone that owns a business this is where you should start. Thirdly, pick up the yellow pages and start dialing. If you sense that someone has a remote interest in getting a site done then do a mock up of a layout and present it to them. I got three jobs this year by doing mock ups. I figure that once you put their name or logo on it then they own it and it's an easy sell (provided that you did a good job).
Good luck

O yea Parasite expect to be turned down and don't take it personally if someone doesn't appreciate what you do. It's a numbers game. Knock on enough doors and someone will answer.

Still looking for projects for freelancers?
I am a freelancer and I'm here in the Philippines. I am in freelancing for just about 10 months now earning a modest amount of money.. dong projects I enjoy most.
It take me long if I tell you all this time and that would take time for us both. To cut it short, you can view a list of projects that are open for freelancers in this page:
http://www.webinnovationph.com/projects.php (http://www.webinnovationph.com/projects.php)
I made this list for easier viewing of projects and this list is actually updated every time a new project is posted.
These projects are actually posted in
http://www.getafreelancer.com/affiliates/pinoywebdev/ (http://www.getafreelancer.com/affiliates/pinoywebdev/)
click that link so that i get credited for referring you to the site.
It is not MLM. From so many open projects, you can choose which one you like and you can place you bid. If you get that project, of course you will get paid after you finished it.
I am just here if you need help.

I hope to hear from you!
P.S. I have served clients both from local market and outside the country. So far ok na ok naman. Although I still enjoy my full time job.
