Windows has a safe mode. This must mean that running windows by definition is UNSAFE.

I am glad they don't make surgical equipment

I'm much more concerned with that "Terminal Parking" thing which has sprung up around airports.

Now that is what I call a parking fee. Death.

I hope it doesn't spread.

I don't know what setups you guys are using, but I use both a Pather (OSX 10.3), and an XP box, and my XP system RARELY crashes a program. In fact using Flash and the Adobe apps I've noticed a same rate of failure between the two systems. Yeah windows has its bugs, but its not as buggy as a lot of people make out. I'm more concerned with the security issues personally, but thats why I run a software firewall and virus scan.

windows unloads all the drivers when starting in safe mode..it helps when you have an error right at the startup, some confliction with the hardware drivers..you can simply avoid and run windows to repair that option..sometimes registry.

although true. was that ever in question Jasninder?

I have to say i agree with thinker2501, ive been a pc user for the start , ive used macs for +5 years from college to work, and I without a doubt rather the pc, when a pc is regularly looked after with defrags and virus updates and windows updates theres little to none error using windows, especially XP which i have found to be very stable in even the more crazy working situations.

Well technically it isn't true.....
It doesn't unload the drivers when starting in safe mode.
It doesn't load them in the first place.

Though given that this thread is more of a play on words than a serious talk about safe mode, it's really irrelevant.

hmm, I remember the good old times of win ME where even the bluescreens had bugs :P
(for example it said press any key to continue. Don't get fooled by that, it won't continue)

win95-Me was pretty much unstable and had many holes in it. Just like Mcgiver said:

Your computer has become unstable. Please press any key to contnue
your system wont respond or even ctrl-alt-del at some time.
