random motion help

for some reason my computer is refusing to let me do this. i used the random motion tutorial in the (http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/random.asp) and my movie clips are going nowhere. i downloaded the fla files to my hard drive, as specified, and when i viewed them i got nothing as well. what am i doing wrong?

any help is always greatly appreciated. thank you

Which version of Flash are you using? If you use MX, that tutorial won't work, it is for Flash 5. Supra did write an updated code for MX though, that can be found here http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/random_motionMX.asp

Don't feel stupid, I did the same thing, how do you think I knew how to fix it? :)

why doesn't that thing work in mx... i haven't heard of any problems concerning flash 5 documents in mx, it even lets you back save...syntax wise there wasn't much of a change from 5 to MX... hrmmm im confused..... :)

I think there's just a few minor things with functions and whatnot that don't transfer well from 5 to MX.

yeah i looked at the code and that seemed as though it was the problem... oh well, they should make things backwards compatible
