Hey everyone,
In case you have not yet had a chance to see some of the screenshots concerning Half Life 2, Gamespot has a good collection of them:

The game looks really nice. It definitely beats Tactical Ops based on the UT1 engine :D
Cheers!

I was browsing through Gamespot earlier today, and this is the first time I saw the screenshots also. The only screenshots I had seen earlier were developers' previews of nvidia/ati demos from various gaming conferences :)
*And I thought that the HL2 source code being leaked would destroy gaming as I knew it hehe.

Oh man,
you have to see the video, if you think those screenshots are amazing!
I hear that your comp wont have to be that powerful to run it, like I'm guessing at least 128 RAM and about 1.7 GHZ. As for teh card, I have a NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX440, and Doom 3 looks amazing on my computer... *whoops!*

anyone know what they are trying to accomplish with the DirectX 8.1 to DirectX 9 shaders comparison? I think 8.1 actually looks better. A lot of whats under the water seems too bright in 9.

Good graphics, but the graphics were amazing when the game was SUPPOSED to be released (September.)
Now, many soon-to-be released games have greatly bypassed the haflife 2 graphics.

eh, painkiller didn't look that great. and far cry was up to par with halflife 2 i guess.
as for doom3, i think that's the new bar set for graphics these days.
and grinch, it may have looked good on your computer, but how many frames did it run at? ;) 2-3 maybe?
