I'm glad I stumbled across this site, seems to be a hub of information that will be more than useful.
I am the WebHead for Orange Brothers Choppers, up in Northern Ontario Canada, and I just happened to their site for the hell of it.
I know its a little sloppy and I need to re-tool some of it, but some constructive pointers would be much appreciated, as this was my first attempt at a commercial site.
Please lemme know what you all think.
Thanks in advance

well... my two cents:
The splash page, although it is probably something that bikers are into, I am not a big fan of the dice. If you have to keep them, get rid of the red scratchy thing...
Also, where it says click here to enter, that should be a link. When I saw that I assumed that I click the text, but found that I click the picture... you could jsut make it all one picture, I don't know I guess it's splitting hairs. And the mouse over... hmm not a big fan there either... just it's too much of a sudden change from static to 'flames'.
The front page of the site needs to be broken apart. Use some tables maybe (or <divs> and css would be best). But it's too long, the average user (ie me) doesn't want to scroll super far down to get to information. Although sometime's I find it a nuisance when tutorials and such are broken into really small segments, a man front page should be broken down into what is most important, and in small chunks, usually leading to larger resources. I found much of the site this way...
I suggest first looking into a dynamic language, as this site is something that would benifit greatly from a database and some php :) It can make it automated, and it will look a lil more formated, using some tables and a while loop to spit out some info.
Okay I know I wrote a lot, jsut my two cents. Thanks for showing us your work :)
Oh jsut saw the store, now that's a lil better, but I'm guessing it was something already put together...

Ok here is my opinion. Orange and Black...EVERYWHERE!...I mean on might site I hope you like Purple and Gray cause its everywhere but somehow I don't mind it...(maybe cause its my site ;) ) Then you definately need a new navigation menu...i hardly even new it was there. Maybe cause of all the black and orange? And I agree radiox PHP or something to break that site up its tooo...monotone to be all one page...
Seriously, when I opened it up I really wanted to close it...its just cheesy with the fire and whatever...i don't mean to be mean but time for a complete redisign. Sorry :(

Hey no...by all means...bring it on...this was my first site ever and I am still learning my way around the cpanel and dreamweaver....swishmax and flash mx. Needless to say I have no training or schooling with any of these programs and its all chinese to me...but hey I gotta start somewhere.
As for the first page...I have a flash intro I 'm still working on, and as for the colour scheme...well the boss likes the flames and orange, red, and black....just reflects the old school style of bikes they build....but thats a whole other ball game.
I appreciate all the feedback and yes I am currently developing a new nav menu...flash as well....fun stuff!!
And yes radiox...the store is a cubecart design....but I found a program in my cpanel I'm toying around with as well....all kinds of goodies in that cpanel just begging for my attention.
Thanks

Nice first go at a web page, we've all been there at some point so keep at it and stay positive.
Now my advice. My resolution is bigger than 800x600... You want suggest I change my resolution to view the site??? I don't think that will ever happen so no need to have it there.
You need to work on tables and the background image for the site as on my screen the flames start to tile and it looks bad.
Cheers.

Yeah thats a couple more things I've been looking at....basically the whole site is gonna get a once over and face lift.....hate to break the bosses heart ...but it needs it.
When I made it...I had no idea of the types of info that where out there...so I kind of winged it...but now...a little more knowledge under the belt.....its gonna be re-vamped.
I just want things to be as cool looking without the screw ups....the target audience enjoys the layout....but needs serious attention IMO.
Thanks
