I need to optimize a logo for the web, how can I do it???, and one version of the logo with a transparent background, someone can explain it to me please, sorry for the stupid questions, thanks.

ok, just need to know if this is okay, Iīm using fireworks, I need the logo to be optimiza for the web, I expor it like this: GIF websanp 128....itīs that ok??? and then I need one with transapretn background, I export it with the same setting as the other but I checked the box that says: alpha transparency....... just write yes if itīs okay, thanks

my only thing is that that gif 128 web snap may not be the call of the day. You may need to go up to 256 for more color info. Also you may need to play with the matte color. Sorry to complicate things but with a company's branding image you really cant mess up. The age old "You only get on chance to make a first impression" line.
post the image also if you can.

ur not complicating anything, thanks for the the info, but I donīt know which is the function of using matte, and hereīs the logo, I post it some time ago, some people didnīt like it but the owner of the site wanted to use it:

okay for that 128 is cool...sometimes a logo may contain a gradient or fade. For this use 256 to get a cleaner fade. And matte should be in the export window of what ever program you are using. And the logo is not bad.

okay matte fills in the jaggies around the edges to give the edge a smoother look. Now if you have a black bgrd and you use a white matte. Your logo will appear to have a halo around the edges. But is you use a black matte the edges will look smooth. Matte really is only used for curves and contours. If your image was a perfect box you would not have to worry about since the edges are all straight.
