Can someome please help?! 8-] I don't have a color picker in the image itself so how would I go about finding middle gray without 'eyeballing' it?

 middle grey? what you mean like 50 percent of black? or 50 percent of grey?
:: try clicking on the foreground colour swatch on the tool bar, opening up the colour picker, then while H is selected, in the HSB input boxes, place the percent in the B box.

I'll try that. I'll explain more. I have an image. I use threshold to find my highlights and shadows. That set my white and blacks to it maximum WITH detail. Now I want to find my TRUE NEUTRAL gray (50%, or R:127 G:127 B:127 and so on and so on). Is there a most expeditious way to consistiently find that middle gray in both color and b/w images in photoshop.
