this is what i get everytime i try to run a search:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted at (null):0 (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/virtual/site284/fst/var/www/html/forums/search.php on line 946

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted at (null):0 (tried to allocate 40 bytes) in Unknown on line 0

Yes - a thread has been created in Random each time somebody had a similar problem :) I tried a Search for 'kirupa', and it seemed to work. What word or words are you searching for? I found that by rearranging the words, the issue is resolved.

I'll try to find a more permanent solution shortly.

Cheers!

I wouldn't complain. I mean, he is using the search function, right? ;)

Yes, it seems to be certain words -

flash returns the error it seems -
mail

common forum topic words seem to return the error...

and I too found that re-arranging them will sometimes clear the error.

Ok - this problem has now been fixed :) I upped the PHP memory limit from 8M to 32M.

It took you 7 months to fix? You're slooooow! :Phaha :) You should see my to-do list. There are updates that people suggested literally from a year or so ago that I still am trying to work into the site/forums!
