Hello everybody,

I'm in a web-masters class for my school composing of the people that are beyond the beginner level :nerd:, we design the school site. The beginning of 04 we did a redesign and it's much better than the previous version but I'm still thinking it needs something. By the way, we don't have flash or anything in studio mx and only have frontpage :( so no matter what it can't be perfected.

Hill Country is the name of the school. (plus the link lol) (http://hcms.eanes.k12.tx.us)

Please be honest, thanks. I know it ain't perfect =) but it seems to work well enough.

First of all: Looks good!
But... Use any other font than Times New Roman for the text...
;)
Cheers

lol same as our school, im doing my GCSE IT course and have already been put into the 6 form higher... then from MS frontpage we move onto Macromedia Dreamweaver....

lol that may sound cool for a shcool but... its dreamweaver from aroun 1996
and that sucks...

(you kirupans are the only bunch that know im young, and what shcool i goto)

my shcool (http://www.secondaryschoolsonline.co.uk/Club_uhomepage.asp?UnionID=92) (hugh christie technology college)

[edit]

we have two full time techs that live eat and breathe in admin alone, they make sure the 1.1 thousand computers website, school network (wich is crap, i can send a message to then entire shcool in a pop-up error box saying "all your base belong to us") are running smooth.

but tbh the way the children treat the keyboards mice computers themselfs.... i would go loopy then kill the little gits

yeah, we have two people like that as well... then a bunch of people who do the security and networking for our district, which is by the way amazing plus very secure... but once some kid figured out the formula to kind the passwords and he could easily hack any computer, now they probably do some very complex algorith like md5 and taking the first five charecters or something. At the highschool they have dreamwever mx, got it this year so I'll be using that in two years. (but my mom want's me to once again skip the first class like I did at my current school)

[EDIT] Not to brag, but we also have numerous T1 lines, or is t3 the faster one, I remember it was whichever was faster lol... it's nice (-:

It's a clean layout, but a little choppy... try using more subtle colours, and maybe 10px geneva font. And I'm not too fond of those outrageous DHTML hacks (the menu). That's kinda what flash is for :D

Did you make the site in Dreamweaver?

I wish, but we don't have anything in studio mx at our school... only frontpage. I am about to redo the menu with a smoother dynamic flash one based on xml, here you can see a demo of it on my site: http://bombingpixels.com/school/flash/menu.html

I found the colour scheme a little 'Whack' bnot in a bad way but I think the site would look better if it comprised of various colours which worked well with each other.

GCSE is the level of education that we in England go through from the years 10 and 11, then if u get good enough grades u can go where I am just leaving 6th form. Oh, yeah theres not much between frontpage and DW so chill out, and A Level IT is easy just a lot of writing. - That bit was for Chunk.

I beg the differ about frontpage and dreamweaver, I always use dreamweaver on my home computer and I can't stand fromtpage! especially that dirty code it writes, I took it's code to validate it and it was scary! lol and oh, I didn't know about that european stuff, deep in the heart of texas we don't do that stuff

Take out those google things... I hate it when I see those on any site... When I feel like searching for something, I'll go to google itself =)

Pretty good nonetheless, seeing you're not allowed to use anything else but Frontpage.

I think it's ugly... There's no structure... The grey clashes with the rest of the site.

look at this one.. The picture is over the links.. (in mozilla FireFox)

It's just every page there is a new look.. wich isn't bad. But there is no real structure.

lol, the page is certainly destroyed. which gray are you talking about though? the one with darker one or the light background? and el_thierro, I hate those google things to and tried forever to convince my teacher to take that, and the dictionary off. Sorrry but it did turn out that when we did user testing like everybody used it. :) I don't have much control on the colors either but I'll see what I can do about that :), you know, once again, we used colormatch and we could never find a set that both looked good and fit with our colors, but as I said, I'll try to work with them.
