I dunno, just felt like posting a thread about something cool, and stuff...
Just having fun!

Okay, So I hate 3D, Third Person Platformer Games.
Hate
Not dislike, HATE.
Mario 64 was a disgrace to the name.
DK 64 Made me want to vomit.
Bubsy 3d was quite possibly the worst game of all time.
Tomb Raider is sickening to me....
So a while back, my Step-son comes to me, and says that he was just playing the greatest game ever, and its a 3D, Third Person Platformer Game, I didn't believe him.
So he saved up his money, and bought the Greatest Hits version of Ratchet & Clank and played it non-stop until he beat it over, and over, again.
Still the skeptic, I finally picked up the game, and played it myself.
I was soo wrong...
So I played it. Loved it. Beat it, bought almost all the Gold Weapons (I'm missing one....) And was in gaming heaven.
Then he comes home from his friends, and says that the Sequal: "Going Commando", is even better than the first.
Okay. Now I'm even more skeptical. Everyone knows that sequals suck.
So, yesterday, I received "Going Commando" in the mail from Trigger-Fingers.com, Popped it in the PS2, and after a few levels stopped just long enough to pick my Jaw up off the Floor.
I played almost all night last night, got to the part where you have you find crystals in the desert to rebuild your ship before stopping and going to bed... This game is one of the best games ever!! I love it! I can't wait to get home from work, and start it up again!
Anyone else a fan of the series?
I've seen some info on R&C3: Up Your Arsenal, that now I can't wait for this one to come out, and I haven't beat the 2nd one yet....
Man.... finally someone did the 3D Platformer Genre justice.... :beam:

I played a demo of it on the PS2 and it was pretty good. I forgot about it until now.

Most 3rd person games I also hate. With the major exception of my true love.

ZELDA!!!!!!!!!

Man. Zeda. Best game ever...
Actually, i never liked either N64 Zelda game.... Link to the Past was the best.
Wind Waker was cool, but I didn't have it long enough to really play it.... it seems like they went to far from their roots for me....

Haven't played the GBA one.
Any good?
...man... if my SNES hadn't been stolen, I probably would still be playing Link to the Past....
anyway, this isn't a Zelda thread! What's wrong with you! :!:
;)
Anyway.... yeah I think one of the best features of R&C is all the cool weapons... Morphomatic, anyone?

Okay and wanted to actually say I agree with the mario 64 statement (somewhat) and the DK64 statement (entirely and then some, I was sooo upet at what they did to one of my favourite games out there...)
I haven't play R&C, but I'll look into it, thanks. Thought it looked like another dumb game :P

Its actually very cool, with lots of stuff to do... you don't easily get tired of it.
Start with the first one, and work your way to the second one, 'cause you can bring some of your weapons from the first game over to the second when you access the memory card you saved the first game on...

What is wrong with older people these days?!
How can you hate 3d games... I don't understand, they just amaze me in so many ways...

lol, glad this game changed your view on 3d platformers.

also, here's something really cool. at some point in the game (RC2), you can purchase some of your old weapons from the first game. this will work if you have the saves from the first game.

and may I also recommend Jak II. If you haven't played the first one (Jak and Daxter), i would suggest it. it's a greatest hits right now.

While I don't HATE 3D games, I think they have become much too popular. It seems that to have 'cutting edge' tech or graphgics, you MUST be 3D. It's ridiculous. They take away a lot of times from gameplay and other thigns, thinking the graphics are all that matter. If it's flashy then people will love it. and the sad thing is, most do.
I am not old (well, I don't think so), and I don't think it really has much to do with it. I'm 19, and I still prefer 2D games over 3D. I love the old NES/SNES titles, and when oddworld came out I was totally blown away. I freaking loved that game, with it's strange sense of humour and great puzzles, yet it was still a 2D game. I was very dissapointed when they said it would go 3D as I felt 2D was one of it's strong suits.
