Okay, so i installed MsgPlus! for MSNMessenger. and tons of things just POPped up. I deleted all of them, except for this one. See attached image. Does anyone know how i can delete this? Permenantly? (tried to turn it off by unchecking it in the thing, but it keeps on showing up anyways). It freezes IE too :(

(sorry for the bad quality, file size)

that doesn't look like anything msn related - tried running anti-spyware programs?

also what Operating System are you using? XP? If you are using XP Pro - I have a solution to stop that happening permanently.

let me know...

un install MSN Plus... reinstall it and then this time refuse to work with the Mcrosoft ad bar. Simple as that. Just read during install.

Try this,

Right Click on teh bar
And there should be a small menu with different taskbar settings
There are checks next to teh ones that are selected
Un-check the smart search, or whatever it's called.

I know this works for win2k, not sure XP, good luck ;)

if any of the above fail, try looking for it in the add/remove program.

^read that for a guide on Spyware, how it works, and what you need to use in order to remove it.

Also were you using XP Professional Edition? or XP Home Edition?
If it is XP Pro - I can give you a permanent fix to prevent those toolbars from installing themselves...

When you install MsgPlus, it asks you if you want to install the sponsor as well. That's how Patchou (the developer) gets most of his pay. If you clicked "Yes, I agree, install the sponsor" by accident, the only way to get rid of it is to uninstall and reinstall MsgPlus without clicking the checkbox.

I removed Messenger plus, and tried to install it again, without the ads. But i don't see the option/check of installing ad or not.. :(

wth? Ive has msgplus installed and ive used it and updated it since 2002. There are no popups. Recently, the guys who created msgplus have placed a sponsor addon to the installation which installs proably that ad crap. Its not spyware, just a addon for normal msn for all that sound stuff and color texting so its not adware. Most of my friends have it and its perfectly runs normal. Just what hificopymaster is saying...

do you have this version...

Messenger Plus! is a freeware. Freeware is neither spyware nor shareware but freeware. It's 100% free to use and you can choose not to install the sponsor program that comes with it.
read really closely.. It will pop up something like..

Do you want to... yadayadayada...
cancel or ok...

then just click cancel.
