Basic layout check

I am making a site for a wedding & portfolio photographer. It will be the first real site I have ever made.

Here are the mock layouts I have done, in order from first to most recent. The demensions of the most recent layout will be the demensions of the final site. The client wants the brown colors. The wedding and portfolio sections will have a slideshow intro w/ text, in which everything else (nav, title, etc) will go away so that the pictures use as much space as they can.

I like the most recent the best, and although I was thinking that having a main menu and a submenu would be too much menus, I think that this works okay... What do you think?

How about changing the color of the menu box also the size of the site looks too small (4th one). I think the 2nd and third look better.

The 4th one is the exact same size as the 2nd and 3rd. Might look a little smaller because more of the space is used... I dont really like how the menu box looks, I'm gonna work on that some more.

Ok, here's my latest (more similar to #3). And the menu is gonna be a collapsable/expandable menu, that way i only have to have one menu. (so dont pay to much attention to the menu that there now, thats just a placeholder.)

I dont know how you will make that menu you have posted in flash look good in your site. But best of luck for it. Its suprising there are so few posts on this thread. I am too busy mentally to help you in a proper manner. but I suggest you work around the 2nd layout. Try adding a few more colors. Is this site for indian weddings. I'll helping you as much as possible.

My menu is not gonna really look like the menu I posted, i just didnt know what those collapsable/expandable menus were called, so i posted an example so people would have an idea of what im talking about. My menu is gonna be about the same size as the menu in the site layouts I posted above, but do the cool sliding thing like in the swf example.

She does indian and "normal" weddings, but she wanted to give it a sorta indian look to attract indian clients (they have the most expensive wedings).

So um... im really spending wayy to much time on this site... am I on the right track?? Does it look okay? Im having a real hard time finding any colors that work with the browns. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I personally like #2. But it feels like it s missing something. Maybe add some of those shamrocks to the menu are in a real light color.

This isnt how its gonna look, but what do you think of the functionality. I made it so i can easily change the speed and easing function by just adjusting 2 variables. This is the menu I am gonna use on the site (it will look better of course). What do you think?
