I haven't posted here a while, so hi.

Check out this image:

Yes, it's nice right?

I was just wondering, does anyone have any ideas or any tutorials/links that tell me how I can create those metal realistic thingies in the middle along with those nice looking electric gears and whizes and thingamabobs?

I have an idea: I think they use gradients for the metal and than airbrush/brush to make the rusty parts. And all types of stuff...

I really wanna know how they make that real metal middle-bottom stuff that says "voice or america" on it!

And then there are those speakers on the left, how do I make those :)?

I was also wondering if anyone knew how to make real looking stuff like old radios and stuff.

Like on 24-7medias lanalandis's site or something...

Thanks :te:!

24/7 uses magic to make his sites. I wouldn't even attempt it.

There's no trick - it just takes time and effort. I've mocked up 3 sites in a similar vein - not quite this good, but pretty sexy (I'm in love with trompe l'oiel in web design) but don't have the fortitude to actually build the concepts.

Lots of time in Photoshop, distressing metal and text is what's necessary. Then taking that into Flash and creating some kickass transitions.

That attitude will make you successful in life. :)I hope you're not being sarcastic, just because I keep in my mind that I can do something :puzzle:...

No! I wasn't being sarcastic! That's a good attitude, most millionaires think like that.

I had a question, in the tutorial of that post he made for the borders. Does anyone know where to get this "floral2" font he speaks of?
