Alright, I'm trying to create V2 of my site, and I've got this lovely (incomplete) animation that will open up my site (www.coppertop.madsims.net/v2.htm (http://www.coppertop.madsims.net/v2.htm)) but unfortunately I've got that far and don't know where to go from there. Any ideas, tips, hits, etc are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

have the mouse click on the v2 file, and then have your site open up :)

Well, you see - that was my original idea, but then I thought what would the site be? Then I though of watching the site get assembled, but realised that had already been done. Which is why I'm stuck.
Thanks anyway.

Err........ hmm... it's cool, but I might try to shorten it a little bit.... I think most visitors would get bored after watching it for too long.
As far as what should happen now... Why are you getting the file out of the recycling bin? That makes it look like you threw it away...
Why not have V1 get pulled out of the bin, and have something really bizarre happen... like a gremlin, or some kind of bug runs across the taskbar, and eats it, and somehow replaces with with V2, like they drag/carry V2 on the screen.
Make it fast, surprising, and silly, and people will love it.
In fact, why not have several different random movies that can display, each with its own little twist.
PS: I dunno if M$ will like you using their logo, even if your just maing a personal site...If you plan on trying to generate business with it, they may crack down on you...

First of all, I wanted to pull it out of the bin because I thought it would be funny. Second, I'm trying to generate business - so I'm not to worried. Third, I like that idea with the multiple movies, and display a different one each time you load up. And forth, I will include a skip button for convience purposes. Thanks tim.

Make the mouse take the fla out of the bin and when it trys to open it the bin deletes it and have that repeat a few time and then the mouse go :m:  and beats the fla out of the bin and the site opens :D

i think what you have so far IS the site (with the exception of the obvious copyright issues with Microsoft) and have each one of your sections be an fla doc. Maybe each icon triggers the mouse to go back to the recycle bin and pull out another doctype, and it opens for that particular section.
cool idea so far, just be careful....

I think it would be major cool if V2.fla was opened and it looks like a virus, all raw and techy lol Have you ever seen this: http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/icons.php it's a pretty nice "windowsy" movie. Good luck!

You could change the name, but keep the font and all, like BigHard, or something...
I agree with the skip idea, it's really long... It feels like it's just looping forever and ever... If I hadn't read the above posts I wouldn't realise it's an intro...
The again, you could leave it as is. Make the little fla a button and have it open just like it does in a normal computer, you could even use the Macrmedia layout for your interface/navigation...
That'd be cool...

Are you that big a fan of Win XP that it'll be YOUR identity? Of course http://www.duracell.com/ isn't that great, even for the coppertop. Maybe if the XP thing was a demo page...

Yeah, I think you should/could do without the Windows logo as a load screen.... that's just too much.... the desktop part should be fine.
