Ok this is not strictly a drawing/design question but it relates directly to graphics programs so i thought here would be best.

I have been tinkering with photoshop and fireworks deciding which i prefered and i have come to the conclusion i prefer the adobe product, so i unistalled fireworks and all is fine i have set the file types to open in photoshop as standard, however the desktop icons for JPEGS is gone replaced with the default windows unkown file one, and the GIF icon is still for fireworks, which i find odd ??

This isnt really affecting me apart from making my pristeen desktop look jumbled and crap lol

can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue so all my Graphics open in photoshop as default and display the same icons.

Any help appreciated

i could not find any other than these two options..

1: right click on the icon and go to open with, then select choose bringing up a new window, go to photoshop then make sure always use the selected program to open this kind of file is ticked. hit ok and the particular extentions you just edit should occur for all file of the same extention.

2: open any folder up, go to tools / folder options.

then go to file type, manually here you edit what type of file opens with what app and what icon goes with that file.

cant think of anything else, maybe do a search on google.com
