I'm thinking of buying a new computer, probably a laptop. I currently got addicted to the mac scrollbar/skin and its products. Is there an advantage of using mac over windows? Mainly for homework and dreamweaver/flash. :hr: If so, what?

I saw iBooks and powerBooks, they both look almost the same. Is there a difference?

*and for the mac users out there, what do you think of macs?*

Thanks :nerd:

macs are awesome, but somewhat overpriced. If you have the money though, for a laptop i'd go with the iBook because the iBook and powerBook now both have the G4 processor. But if you really want some speed and power go with the Powermac G5 dual 2.0 ghz :D I know i would if i had the money hehe.

Macs are nice, very pleasing visually, very stable, and completely usable. I'm actually thinking about getting an iBook myself hehe. But i may just wait for a G5 powerbook... ;)

Sweeet.

Out of curiosity, is the speed 1.0 gHz for mac the same for windows? Because the hardware for windows now requires speedy ones (2GHz for a lot of the computers), so does Mac require the same things? Or is it actually faster since mac processes stuff the non-MS way..

Heh, I'm going for the iBook. :D

Mac's "ghz" is actually faster than windows'. My understanding of this is that there are three things that make it faster: 1) Apple makes all of the hardware, and can do extensive testing etc 2) Mac builds in features into their operating system that will only work with their hardware 3) OSX is just plain more efficient than windows.

My 846mhz processer is faster than my 2ghz windows box.

The iBook and powerbooks ARE NOT the same. PowerBooks and iBooks will be this close for only some time as people are already gearing up for the next PowerBook update (a possible g5 powerbook)

I will put it like this for you, you get what you pay for, overpriced? Nope, you get every penny out of it.

What are the differences between a powerbook and an ibook? besides that the powerbook has a titanium case and better quality RAM?

If you use you mac for homework and web design... you'de be a perfect mac user!

And, mac's processors clock much faster than PC processors. Maybe about 2x-4x faster.
